Chapter3:The next day

Kanira got up real early the next day in preparation for work. Her alarm rung on time. She did her morning workout, did her meditation and was ready for a light breakfast so she couldn’t fall asleep at work. After all that, she prepared her warm bath. Nira really loved self-pampering very much, and she made sure she didn’t make herself feel less important. Every morning, when she wakes up, she looks in the mirror and tells herself ‘you matter ’. After 5 minutes, her bath was ready, she quietly walked to the bathroom. After singing a couple of songs while bathing, she was done bathing, part dried all the water from her body and applied freshly scented body butter and, of course, her lavender hair oil on her long brown hair.

Still in her bath robe, she walked downstairs to have a full bottle of water to get hydrated for the day ahead. She stood by her plant that was near the kitchen window and admired its beautiful yellow flowers that had just bloomed and poured a small amount of water onto it. In a bit, she got back upstairs after having a moment with her beautiful plant to finish getting ready. Walking to her closet and thinking of what color she wanted to wear, she finally decided on some brown. Looking around, she had got a brown skirt to go with a white sleeved shirt. Looking in the mirror, she smiled and whispered ‘ Nira, don’t forget your pumps and purse’.

Pleased with how she looked, she wore her last accessories, her watch and grabbed her warm coat. And was ready to leave. This time she was not late for work. She had all the time in the world. She ordered herself an uber, and it’d be there in 10 minutes. She reluctantly waited for the uber sitting on her couch while reharsing how she'd greet her workmates. Then the uber arrived and slowly walked out of her apartment, locked her door. And walked towards her ride.

The driver smiled when he saw her and said ‘ Looking good ma’am’. Nira smiled and excitedly responded ‘ Thankyou sir’. She opened the car door and sat quietly at the back seat. After 30 minutes of driving, they reached the Shah Enterprise. The driver then spoke, saying, ‘We’re here ma’am’, ‘mmm that was fast, we have no traffic today,’ said Nira. She paid the driver and thanked him. With her warm smile, she walked towards the main entrance and was so happy to see Emelda just ahead of her, she walked quietly behind her so she could meet her by the front desk to check in. Immediately, Melda was done with her check in Nira caught up, ‘ Hey, good morning,’ said melda. ‘ Nira smiled and said, ‘Good morning Melda.'

They headed to the elevator to get to the second floor where their desks were located. While in the elevator, they received emails from Mr Mora, the vice president, who sent them tasks each one of them needed to complete. They both sighed as they read through it and said, at the same time, ‘oh work’ and giggled. They were getting along quite well. The elevator stopped, and they reached the second floor. Stepped out, heading to their tables, each table with their names on it, they found Micheal and Thomas already sitting checking through their pending tasks, ‘Good morning guys’ said Nira and Melda. The guys smiled and said ‘Good morning ladies’.

Nira immediately removed her coat before sitting on her assigned table. She looked around for dust because she didn’t want any form of stain on her white shirt. After fully checking, she finally sat and opened her computer to begin her work. ‘It’s 8.45am already’ she whispered after checking her watch. Opening her email to check if there was any work sent to her by the CEO apart from the one Mr Mora sent. She smiled as there was no other work added and went ahead to tackle the already assigned work.

It was already lunchtime. She checked her watch after completing about four tasks and only remaining with one to finish, but her tummy didn’t accept one more work without having a lunch break. Nira moved her seat to check on Melda if she was ready for some lunch. ‘Hey Melda, food’ she said in a low voice. Melda noticed her and gladly smiled, ‘Yes please’. They both stood up, left the room together, and told Micheal and Thomas ‘ off to lunch break guys. They headed to the cafeteria that was also on the second floor. Upon reaching Nira, asked ‘do they get cards, or is it just cash’, Melda immediately responded ‘no, no, it's on the company, we work here, no need to pay because we have our company Ids with us’. Kanira was glad to hear that, she immediately asked for a bottle of water first, and they went on to grab trays to carry their food on. Nira got some chips, chicken and a vegetable salad, and Melda got herself fish and chips. They went to sit at a table that was near a window, ‘some air’ they spoke at once and giggled. Nira drank some water, then started eating her meal. Just after a few bites, she remembered to get a drink. Getting up to go get one, she asked Melda if she needed a drink.' Yeah,’ Melda answered. Walking towards the drinks, Nira noticed the man entering the cafeteria looking so good that he got her attention. She quickly shifted her gaze and grabbed two grape-flavoured drinks and quickly walked back to their table. ‘Here, they just had this flavor’ said Nira as she handed a drink to Melda.' Thanks,’ she responded as she kept galping her chips. ‘mmh, I really needed this drink’ she added on.
