Chapter 4

Xavier's POV

This morning couldn't get any better, it was only 6am but I feel like its 6pm. It had been 2 days since the hospital incident and Scarlet hasn't come back to work, I wanted to go to her house and check up on her but I understood she needed some time to recover. So in the last 2 days I had to take the calls that Scarlet would normally take, and it was annoying as f**k.

I just got a call from Mr Dylan Greys assistant inviting me to a Masquerade Ball he's holding to introduce someone special she said, she also mentioned that all the elite would be there so it was essential that I attended.

Not too long after I ended the call I received a call from my father.

"Father" I said emotionless.

"Xavier I wanted to discus something with you" father replied sternly.

"Don't we all. What is it you wanted to discus?"

"Dylan Grey phoned me last night and gave me the most wonderful news" This didn't sound good.

"And that would be?"

"He has found his daughter son. He is holding a ball to welcome her to the would and to announce your engagement" that did it!

"Father I told you already the girl I want to marry is Scarlet and only her. She is the only one I love!" I was getting angry.

The door clicked and my head snapped to see who opened it. My mouth dropped open to see it was Scarlet and the look on her face tells me she heard what I said.

"You will marry Dylan's daughter or help me god that girlfriend of yours will never set foot in any company at all!" Father shouted and ended the call. I huffed out a breath.

Putting my phone down I looked up to see Scarlet still standing infront of the door, her face all red. That put a smile on my face knowing I was the cause of it.

"Scarlet sit down here. We need to talk" I said softly.

She slowly made her way to the seat infront of my desk and hesitantly sat down. I took her appearance in and she looked breathtaking. She was wearing a navy blue round neck dress that reached just above her knee with the sleeves just covering her elbows. It was simple but it took my breath away. It was like her beauty was glowing and it was turning me on.

"Sir?" Scarlet said and pulled me out my fantasy.

"Did you hear what I said a while ago?"

"Yes sir... I... I didn't mean to sir. I knocked but there was no answer so I just opened the door. I'm really sorry sir" She looked like she was about to cry. It broke my heart.

"Scarlet. I ment every word I said" She looked shocked. No shocked was an understatement. She was about to reply when she got up, covered her mouth with her hand and rushed to the bathroom that was connected to my office.

I jolted up and rushed to her and held her hair back and rubbed her back. I was getting worried, she vomited what looked like her breakfast and flushed the toilet. She rinsed her mouth and said a small thank you and made her way back to the seat. Something tells me this isn't the first time she vomited in the morning because of how calm she took the situation. I don't know whats happening to her but I'm determined to find out. Making my way back to my seat I decided t ask her what was up.

"Scarlet are you ok?" She was looking down at her feet and just gave me a nod as an answer.

"Is there something your not telling me?" I was trying to bait her into telling me what was wrong with her, I just hope she falls for it.

"I.... I have... um bad health sir and I was going to ask if I could be transfered to the marketing department." And there it was she fell for it but that wasn't my concern. She said she had bad health, she was not well and I understand why she would want to transfer because being an assistant is alot of work.

"I understand why you would want to be transfered but you don't have an educational background. I don't know if the job would be suitable for you." Her resume she didn't have anything on her educational background, how was I ment to transfer her?

"I have a degree in Business Management sir I finished college at the age of 17. I... um was a.. um smart child." 17? I didn't finish my college course till I was 22 how the f**k did she finish at 17? Something wasn't right. However I didn't want to tire her out so.

"Alright. I will introduce you to the marketing department. Lets go" She let out the breath she was holding in since she said her educational background. Something wasn't right but I'll just let it go for now.

We got into the elevator and made our way to the 15th floor where the marketing department was. Coming out the elevator the staff stopped what they were doing and looked our way. Some girls from the department smiled and lifted their boobs up and stood in a flirty way. This just made me sick.

"Attention everyone. This is Scarlet Jonson she will be working in the Marketing Department from now on. If anybody gives her a hard time, you will face me. Got it!" I said sternly. I was starting to regret transferring her because I could see the other girls glaring at her. I turned to Scarlet who was looking at her feet again.

"Scarlet if you need anything just phone me ok. Remember what I said when you walked in I meant it." I whispered last bit in her ear. With what I said she looked up and gave me a warm smile. That did it!

"I'll go now ok. I'll see you at lunch." I said to her and gave her a quick peck on the lips which received multiple gasps from the people in the room.

"Anthony I'll leave Scarlet with you. Watch over my girlfriend" I said the last bit louder so that people in the room could hear. This again received another round of gasps and to my surprise a slap on the arm from Scarlet. I turned to her and smiled and made my way back to my office.

Scarlet's POV

After Xavier left I felt a wash of embarrassment because Xavier announced to everyone here I was his girlfriend, which was not true.

Its 11:30am already and I'm bord as hell. The work the guy Anthony gave me was finished. It only took me 1 hour go finish them, because I'm smart but I don't really show it so it wouldn't cause any rumors. In people's eyes I'm a 'not so educated' girl, but they don't know who I really am.

Seeing it was lunch time I started to get up, only to be cornered by 3 girls caked with makeup.

"Where you off to s**t?!" The red head asked.

"Don't get to comfy being Xavier's 'Girlfriend', he's mine!" Blondy said.

"What do you have that Xavier introduced you to the staff. That's Crystal's man!" The brunet said. I assume Crystal's the blondy and these are two of her minions. What the hell was this high school?

"Well hello girls, I have to go it was nice 'talking' to you" I said sarcastically. I walked off and made my way to the 2nd floor to get something to eat because me and baby here were starving. I got to the company restaurant and made my way to one table only to be stopped by the 3 bimbos again.

"What now?" these three were getting on my nerve.

"We're not done with you yet b***h!!" Crystal screams causing everyone in the restaurant to look at us.

She walked towards me and grabbed my hair. She started to scream at me but I couldn't hear her because I was more focused in protecting my stomach, my baby could be in danger because of this s**t.

Xavier's POV

The people in the Marketing department said Scarlet went to get something to eat.

I thought I told her we we're having lunch together.

I got to the entrance of the restaurant when I heard a scream, quickly walking in I was shocked to see Crystal pulling Scarlet's hair while Scarlet hold's herself not even fighting back once. Quickly running to them I break the catfight up and stand infront of Scarlet shielding her incase Crystal attacked again.

"What the hell are you doing Crystal!" I shouted at her, fully aware we we're surrounded by people.

"She started it Xavier, she slapped me so I just defended myself" She whined. Her voice was irritating me, I don't even understand why she was here. Crystal quit 2 days ago saying her father told her not to work anymore, which was great because she was a pain in the a*s.

"Scarlet would never do that!" I said defending Scarlet. She had the guts to lie to me huh?!

"Why are you defending her?!" She was getting angry.

"SHE'S MY GIRLFRIEND!!" I screamed which caused people around us to gasp and murmur.

"No your lying! You are engaged Xavier and you know it!" She replied which shocked me. After saying that she walked away.

How the hell does she know I'm engaged? Does she have connection to the GGC? Oh s**t which reminds me the party is tonight. f**k!

I turn around to see Scarlet in tears, so I did the only thing I could. I hugged her.

"Stop, it's alright now" I soothed her back and hugged her tight.

After the whole incident with Crystal I decided to take Scarlet home and on the way I popped the question if she would accompany me to the ball. I forgot to mention it was Dylan who was hosting it but luckily she agreed. So now it was 7pm and we we're on our way to Dylan's house. Scarlet was quiet throughout the journey, she just had her eyes close and looked like she was sleeping.

After 20 mins we arrived and I parked the car and went to Scarlet's side to wake her up. When we got out the car and Scarlet stiffened, I was getting worried when her eyes went big and started to water. I couldn't read her whole expression because she had a mask on. It is a Masquerade Ball after all.

"Scarlet what's wrong?" I was getting worried.

"Why did you bring me here?" She was trembling but tried to hold her tears in. This ladies and gentlemen is a strong women. But why was she like this?

"Grey Group of Company's CEO is hosting this party, Dylan Grey." When I said that name she jumped. What the hell was wrong with her?

"Scarlet let's go." I said sternly and she just nodded.

Walking in it looked like we were just in time for the announcement. Dylan walked on stage and greeted everyone.

"Good Evening to you all and thank you for coming. I hosted this party because I realised it was time to welcome the heir to the GGC. My daughter Crystal Grey." He said and motioned his hands. The girl came out and faced the audience, shocking me. It was Crystal. Crystal's the lost daughter? She's the one I was to wed? No wonder she knew about me being engaged. I looked at Scarlet and she was staring at the stage hurt in her eyes.

We walked to out table and I could see Dylan and Crystal making their way to me. I got up and turned around because we had our backs to them.

"Mr Royce, I would like you to meet my daughter Crystal Grey" He said motioning to Crystal.

"We will arrange the wedding soon Mr Royce seeing how my little princess knows you." He said. I was in shock and couldn't speak.

"We can finally be together now baby" Crystal screeched.

Scarlet was quiet with her back turned to us until....
