I could feel the horrible acid taste in my mouth even before my eyes opened. I need water.

I took the medicine and water from Ruth and downed it all in a single breath. Breathing out, I rested my head on the headboard, waiting for the pain to go away.
“How did you find me?” I think she was surprised I was talking to her and that’s why it took her some time to reply back.
