Lunch with Xavier

"Good Morning Sir, what can I get you"? Petra asks the man in front of her but he does not respond and just looks around the shop like he is searching for something. Just as Amanda taught them, Petra waits patiently for the man to decide what he wants. "Actually, I'm looking for someone" he tells her. "She has to be the most beautiful creature ever created" he says causing confusion for the girl. "I don't understand" She says scratching her head. "Right. I'm looking for a girl, I could be wrong but I believe she is part Latin and black, short with a killer body. Dark hair and brown eyes" he explains.

Petra finally understands what he is talking about. Or rather, who he is talking about. "You mean Amanda"? She asks with a smile and he suddenly looks embarrassed. "Uh, I didn't get her name. I just saw a tag on something she was wearing" He explains causing Petra to laugh at him. "I believe you are talking about my boss. I'll go get her" she tells him before going to Amanda's office. Boss? That tiny human calls the shots around here? The thought alone causes him to chuckle, how does she reprimand her employees when she looks that cute?

He looks around once more and finally lays his eyes on her, as beautiful as she was that day. She finally notices him and halts in her steps and he walks towards her slowly while taking her in. How can one human be so beautiful? This must be what his mother meant when she told him that he would meet a girl and just know.

Amanda stares at the man in front of her wondering how he found her. She was hoping to never see him again but now here he is, right in front of her with a creepy smile. "Hello beautiful. We meet again" he says as he stands in front of her.

"Can I help you"? She asks him and he smirks at her attitude. "Yes actually, I would like to marry you. I want to marry you right now please" he states with a serious expression. Petra starts laughing as she watches her boss's face goes from bored to shocked to irritated in seconds. "Well, if you must know Sir, I am already married so you can go now" she tells him, causing him to feel disappointed.

"Wait, how are you married if there is no ring on your finger"? He asks and she shakes her head. "I'm a baker, I will not wear my ring at work because I might lose it" she says with a shrug and rolls her eyes. "Alright fine. Can we be friends then"? He asks causing her to laugh. "No. Not gonna happen". He frowns at her and she gives him the most beautiful smile he has ever seen. "Listen, I have not been here in ten years. I would really love to have someone to hang around and to show me around. Please" he says sincerely and she sighs.

"Fine. I'm dreading having lunch alone anyway. I'll just get my purse" she tells him before turning away to get her purse and he waits there with a cheesy grin on his face. "Her husband is the most dangerous man on earth" Petra tells him and he smirks, "Yeah and I'm head of the Russian Mafia" He says and they both laugh. Amanda comes back and they walk out of the shop. "And where would the beautiful lady like to have her lunch"? Amanda stops to think for a moment before pointing down the road,"There is a cool pizza place over there. We can walk over if you like" she says and he nods.

"So, who are you, why did you leave town and why are you back now"? Amanda asks. "Well, I'm Xavier Andrews. I left for work and now I'm back because my company is working on a huge deal with a local company" he explains. "So you are like, a representative"? She asks and he nods. They reach the restaurant and he opens the door for her and they pick a corner table to sit. "So, what kind of work do you do"? She asks him and he pauses, not knowing how to explain it. "Well...it's just boring corporate stuff. I am just curious. How old are you? I mean, you are already married, own a whole bakery but you look so tiny" he asks and she laughs at him.

"I'm almost 23. And how old are you Mr Corporate"? She asks. "I'm 30. We have the perfect age gap don't we"? He says making her roll her eyes. A waiter comes to take their orders and they both order meat lover's pizza. "Did you deliberately order the same thing as me"? Amanda asks him and he shakes his head. "No ma'am. I happen to love meat lover's. Honestly" she does not quite believe him but lets it go. They spend the rest of day sitting there and chatting getting to know each other. Xavier might be flirting every now and then but Amanda is really just happy to make a friend and have a distraction from the drama in her life with Lauren and Alexander.

Xavier's phone rings and 'Mother' flashes on his screen. "Sorry I need to take this" he tells her getting up to answer the phone. He comes back minutes later now in a sour mood. "Are you okay"? She asks him and he forces a smile. "Yeah. I need to get going. My dearest mother wants to see me". Amanda smiles, "Boys and their mom's. You should go see her. I need to get home as well" she tells him and they get up to leave. Xavier insists on handling the bill and eventually she lets him pay and they walk back to the bakery in silence.

"Thank you for spending your day with me. I really like spending time with you" Xavier says. "I liked it as well. See you around Xavier. Who knows, maybe we can be good friends someday" she tells him and walks to her own car leaving him standing there.

Back in the hotel, a knock on the door disturbs Lauren on a phone call and she shouts, "who is it"? But the person does not respond and just continues knocking. "Someone is at the door. We'll talk some other time" she says hanging up and placing the small phone back in its hiding place. Irritated, she goes to open the door ready to bash whoever has the audacity to come knocking repeatedly but she is stunned to see who is standing drunk before her. "Move" he says pushing her away and letting himself in.
