Chapter 5
Third Person
Yesha heard the murmurs of the audience around her, which didn’t escape her hearing. Even the red-haired man’s expression grew more serious.
"Ms. Beautiful. Are you new here?"
Yesha remained silent.
"This is the first time we've seen you. Also, what’s your connection to Ed? Are you his friend?" one of them asked with a big smile.
Their looks… Aside from being handsome, they also look like womanizers. Yesha thought.
"Bro, why didn't you tell me you knew such a beautiful lady," one of them winked at her.
"Shut up, Leo," Ed replied, clearly annoyed as he knew Leo's usual antics.
"Duh! That’s just weak! Yes, it’s Yesha!" Kiera said in a haughty tone and looking visibly annoyed.
Some who didn’t recognize her gasped in surprise, confused by Yesha's transformation. Some of them became serious, grinning, eager to witness the torment section red would put her through.
"W-Woah. Y-Yesha? Is that really you? Wow! You’re actually beautiful and cool now!"
"Tsk. Don’t mind her, Dark. We know this is just another one of her dramas. Better not waste your time on her."
"We know her. She’s just pretending to get Dark's attention. Stop being pathetic again, Yesha. This act of yours is getting old," one of Kiera's cronies said.
"I have the right to choose the section I want," Yesha said confidently, looking directly into Dark’s intense gaze ignoring all the insults.
"What if I don't allow it?" he replied coldly.
She raised an eyebrow. "You’ll have no choice."
"She’s on fire," Michael muttered unconsciously, feeling the intensity and excitement from Yesha's courage. No one had ever dared to answer Dark with such sarcasm and bravery until Yesha entered the scene.
"As far as I remember, I was originally assigned to section red upon my first enrollment. I am one of the royalties, a Princess, not until you forcibly reassigned me to section pink without my consent."
"Huh! So you remember that? Does that mean the news about your temporary amnesia was fake? You were just pretending, weren’t you?" Kiera interjected in a snarky tone. "Besides, the President made the right decision. Section red is powerful and strong. It would be embarrassing if someone as weak as you joined us."
Yesha let out a sarcastic laugh. "Powerful and strong? The only thing powerful here is your need for attention — too bad you're not the one I'm talking to."
A small giggle escaped from Antheia who had been listening.
"What did you say?"
"Stop, Kiera," Ed said, stepping beside Yesha and letting out a deep sigh. "She really has temporary amnesia. She can only remember some things. She doesn’t recall some of you. And I'm sorry, Dark, but my sister is right. Give her a chance to be part of —"
"Hi. Isn’t this amazing, Yesha? It’s hard to believe, but let me introduce myself… I’m Leorando, but you can call me Leo." Leo interrupted, much to Ed’s annoyance which Leo just ignored. He extended his hand to Yesha with a smile, but she didn’t take it.
When they began introducing themselves, Yesha recalled the descriptions her personal dama had given her. She recognized them all, even their personalities.
Prince Leorando Hailstone, also known as Leo from the Hoarfrost Kingdom. In the group, he's the playboy and heartbreaker. He treats girls as toys, although he's kind and sometimes funny. His elemental power is ice.
"Okay," Yesha responded nonchalantly.
Leo scratched his head, embarrassed that she didn’t accept his handshake. Yesha knew it was one of his tricks.
"I'm Michael," another guy said, staring at her admiringly.
Prince Michael Crystial from the Underground Crystal Kingdom. In the group, he’s the joker, the hyper one, and very egotistical. His elemental power is crystal.
"The most handsome in the world. Dark excluded," Michael added with a smirk, but…
Yesha simply raised an eyebrow. "No one asked."
Michael cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head.
Yesha then noticed a little girl with ashy red, almost gradient and smiling brightly at her. She smiled back, charmed by the girl’s cute enthusiasm.
"I'm Antheia, Yesha! You look so beautiful when you keep it simple!" she said excitedly.
Princess Antheia Smith, the only sister of Dark Hirari Smith, from the Fire Nation Kingdom. She’s childish, innocent, and very friendly. She’s very different from her cold brother Dark even though she’s his sister. Her elemental power is lava.
"I'm Diana," the girl next to Antheia said, smiling at Yesha who returned the smile too.
Princess Diana Terrain from the Earthinian Kingdom. She’s kind and sometimes serious. Her elemental power is healing Earth.
"I'm Fauna, Yesha."
Yesha turned her gaze toward the girl who spoke, who was also staring at her.
Princess Fauna Wateria from the Atlantic Kingdom. She’s joyful and has a kind heart. Her elemental power is water. Though she’s as gentle as still water, but I need to be cautious — still waters run deep.
"Hi. I'm Chandra," another girl said with a shy smile and her voice is gentle. Despite her innocent aura, Yesha knew she should be careful with Chandra, she's observing her carefully.
Princess Chandra Cresentian from the Crescent Kingdom. She’s sweet and holds the elemental power of the luminous moon. She has a logical mind.
Yesha smiled at them. "Nice meeting you."
They may be different from Kiera, but I can’t let my guard down. If I want to be part of section red, it won’t be easy, especially...
Yesha turned her gaze back to the man who hadn’t taken his eyes off her. When he noticed, his cold face turned even more distant. "Staring is rude."
Yesha nearly scoffed at his words. He’s the one staring at me the whole time!
Suddenly, a memory flashed in her mind. Dark was actually the person the old Yesha loved the most. Yes, he’s attractive, but seriously... A woman shouldn’t chase a man. Not me — I attract things meant for me; I don’t chase.
She wanted to roll her eyes but instead looked away, noticing a man who seemed indifferent to his surroundings, holding a thick book with a black cover.
Oh, he’s the guy my attendant mentioned… What’s his name again?
"Did you see that? She actually ignored Dark."
"Probably just an act so we’d think she did."
Right. He's… "Chat."
Prince Windarlo Chat, also known as Chat from the Sky Kingdom. Dark's best friend. He only befriends those he deems worthy of his loyalty. He’s intelligent, a bookworm, and known for his silence. His elemental power is wind. He has sharp senses; though he appears aloof, he’s actually very aware of his surroundings. Just like now — he's looking at m—
She was startled when she met his bluish heavenly gaze. Dmn! It's my first time seeing such eyes. I didn't notice them before.
"Huh! How come she knows Chat and none of us do," someone said mockingly but she ignored it focused on him.
"Just part of her act."
He had these captivating eyes behind his glasses, some of his bangs falling over them. His hair was a milky color. Yesha froze as he gave her a small, simple smile without breaking eye contact. Oh, he’s not as aloof as they said.
"You have five seconds left to leave, or you’ll experience how ruthless section red can be," Dark said with a blank expression.
Yesha was caught off guard by his cold tone. She couldn't help but stare into his eyes which had changed from black to a fiery blend of red, orange, and blue, like hellfire, contrasting the peaceful look she had seen in Chat’s eyes.
Then, she heard a loud thunderclap out of nowhere, seemingly echoing the dark aura of the man in front of her.
What’s with him? He was fine earlier!
Yesha chose to smirk. "Ruthless? That word suits you well, doesn’t it?"
"Three."
Her grin widened. He didn’t even say five or four.
"Little sis… maybe let’s just—"
"No. I don’t break my promises, kuya."
"Two."
"Yesha, can you just leave? Don’t be desperate."
Dmn. I’d love to take out whoever said that.
"One."
"Little sis—"
"Zero." Everyone paused in silence. Dark smirked with a hint of warning in his eyes, no emotion in his gaze, though something unspoken lingered. Yesha couldn’t quite decipher it. "Close the door and let her face a trial."
As he said this, Yesha felt a surge of energy running through her body, as if her adrenaline had been triggered. She smirked secretly. A bloody trial, huh? As expected.
