The Plans That Destiny Had For Me

1053 Words
Ava I opened my eyes slowly, my whole body aching from head to toe. I tried to move but I couldn't and I guess it was because of the drips that were attached to my arm. I looked around, trying to get up but was immediately stopped by a nurse who made me lay back down. “No ma'am please relax, you had a concussion so you need to rest” she said, her voice calm and relaxing, the kind of voice that I needed to listen to. I didn't try to waste any more time because I knew if I tried getting up she'll simply make me lay back down so I simply laid on my back trying to get a grasp of what had happened. My memory was blurry, I didn't have a clear image of what happened or how I got here but one thing I knew was that I needed to get out. Then it hit me. The memories started rushing in like a pack of wolves attacking a lonely prey, I recalled all that had happened. How I was betrayed, jailed and ran over by a car. That's how I got here wasn't it? I was still lost in thought when a muscular figure appeared. He looked young probably in his late 20’s, he put on a black suit, fitted ring and a Rolex watch. He looked rich, I could tell from how he carried himself. Following him was a young lady, probably his PA or secretary. She looked young as well and seemed to be a bit clumsy. I smiled seeing her for reasons I didn't understand. “Please excuse us” the man said, his voice commanding. It felt like his words could make an entire room shift, as if every other thing crumbled as he spoke. I watched as the nurses went out of the room without complaint nor hesitation. “You're awake. That's good, my name is John ” he said, turning to me as she took a seat. “ Ava and Yes, thanks for helping me” I said, my voice slow but steady. “Don't mention, I put you on that state so it's only the right thing for me to do, isn't it?” he asked, his voice mesmerizing. I couldn't stop staring at his amazing figure and brown eyes that could make any girl fall. “Can I ask you a question?” He asked, his voice sounding rather concerned than commanding now. “Yes, of course you can” I replied softly. “What made you do lost? Why were you looking so lost like the whole world had wronged you” he asked. He didn't beat around the bush, he went straight to the point and this made me know that he was a straight forward man. I didn't want to tell him all that happened, I didn't want to bother him, but he kept on insisting and I finally broke. At this point I was telling a complete stranger my story and all that had happened to me within this past few days. I kept the names of Tyler and Juliet out of the explanation, describing them using pronouns in order not to fully disclose it all. “Is that really the best you can do?” He said coldly after patiently listening to my story. He smirked cold, bold enough to see. I became enraged, I trusted him and told him my story and he seemed not to believe me. “What do you take me for?” I asked. At this point I was ready to throw a punch to his face and hurt that perfectly structured face. “I mean just say that you saw a rich man and immediately wanted him all to yourself, that's why you came up with this fake story in order to get my pity and love. But sadly, I don't fall for such trucks, never have never will” he said, his face stern as he made these statements piercing a hole in my heart. At that moment I understood why people said that all men were the same. I didn't even notice the tears rolling down my cheeks, they flowed instinctively as if pouring down on their own accord. I wiped them, snuffed and tried getting up to leave, I mean if no one believes me,what was the use of staying back there? He pulled me back. I glared at him as his giant hands crutched my arm slightly. I felt pain which he immediately noticed and let go. I could tell he was a good man but why was he being mean to me? “I'll help you” he said, his voice clear and stern. “What?” I asked, confused at what he just said. “You heard right, I'll help you take your revenge” he continued. “How?” I asked, curious to know more about what he was saying. “I'll build you up, make you better, the perfect weapon that could challenge him in business or just that but in the country” he said, his voice even clearer as he stood up looking straight into my eyes. “ Do you want that?” He asked me, still staring hoping for an answer. I stood there, shocked and dumbfounded. How could I trust a stranger? Was I about to make a mistake? Even if so, it was better than being left with no where else to go. I'd rather follow this stranger who helped me than go back to the family who hurt me. “Yes, yes I do. More than anything. I want to make all of them pay. They have to pay for all they've done” I said, wiping the tears that still lingered on my face. He smiled. “Good, you'll move in with me and I'll start your training. You'll also get treatments at my house rather than this hospital, do you understand?” He asked. “Yes I do” I replied. And in that moment I changed my whole life completely, without realizing it at all. I was about to follow a stranger home and I didn't feel afraid more than that I felt safer than I had ever felt in my whole life.
