23 Leo stood still while his best friend stormed off, leaving him there with Sara. Sara that he thought he loved, right up until she kissed someone else. “I didn’t know,” she whispered. Leo nodded. “I figured. I’m sorry, but I’m just not really feeling like lunch right now.” Sara nodded. “Yeah, me either. I guess I’ll see you later.” He nodded again, ignoring the tears in her eyes as she turned and ran off. Leo took a deep breath and pasted on a grin. He had a job to do, and it didn’t involve cheating, lying women who were only going to break his heart anyway. Leo worked the rest of the day in the tasting room, laughing with customers and selling wine. He pushed all thoughts of Sara and Peter out of his head. It wouldn’t do him any good to think about either of them, so he didn’t.
