Chapter 9-2

1654 Words

Sara was leaving work when she noticed a message from Peter. He wanted to grab dinner and maybe a movie if she was up to it. She called him instead of texting back, since it was late. “Hey,” he answered on the first ring. “I was just going to text you again.” “I’m sorry! I didn’t check my phone and just saw your text as I was leaving work. Did you still want to get dinner?” “Absolutely. I’d never miss a chance to spend time with my favorite new Bereton resident.” Sara laughed. Peter had a way of making her feel good about herself. He was sweet and funny, and she enjoyed spending time with him. “Don’t try to talk me into moving here. It’s only temporary,” Sara said. “A guy can try,” Peter said with a laugh. “Where are you?” “I’m in my car at Lakeside Glass. I haven’t left work yet.”
