He began to step forwards again, passing the room where he slept, along a snaking passageway to reach the Chamber of Devotion. Through wide windows, Omn glistened in the light of his three attendant suns, the green beauty of the orb bringing a pang of pleasure to Malleus's troubled mind. The circle of light upon the surface, like the pupil of an eye, flickered away. Someone, somewhere was communicating with Omn, possibly even First Augur Carious himself, receiving instructions on what Malleus's fate should be.
