Cassie’s POV:
What did she just say? Was that some kind of prank? Because if it was it wasn’t a very funny one.
‘ What do you mean your have cancer mom, you can’t have cancer ’, I said then laughed because I wanted to do anything but believe what she just said. I mean it couldn’t be true, she was probably joking with me. ‘ Come on mom, what do you mean by you have cancer? There are some jokes we really shouldn’t make ’, I asked again still smiling like someone with a mental problem.
She paused and looked at me. ‘ It means I have cancer Cassie ’, she said to me then smiled but I could see her eyes tearing up.
‘ It can’t be, it really can’t. Please mom tell me you don’t mean it ’, I said. I was beginning to cry at this point and so was she.
