I stood by the door and thought about what I just did. I still couldn’t believe it, but it was the right thing to do, rather than stringing Jeff along.
I finally took a deep breath, opened the door and went into the apartment, only to meet Damian who seemed to have been waiting for me.
‘ I want to show you something ’, Damian said immediately.
I dropped the coat on the hanger. ‘Can this wait? I’m really really tired and I just-‘
‘ Please’, he interrupted. ‘ It’ll be quick ’.
I stare at him for a bit, ‘Fine’.
‘ Thank you. We’ll need to drive there ’, he said.
‘ I think you’re going against, ‘it’ll be quick ’, I chuckled.
‘ I’m sorry, I’m sorry but it’s really important ’, he said.
