Since it was her first outing around the estate, Clare was evidently smart about it. She was ready in her best clothes and her hair neatly braided to one side. Her face was painted just enough to grant her a comfortable consciousness that she was presentable to the eye of the curious.  The land around the castle was too large that they couldn't possibly cover it on foot. "I'm sorry if I have caused anyone discomfort this morning," was the first thing she said to Shirley when she got into the car.  Shirley shook her head.  "You've done nothing wrong, Clare. Please don't worry. Although I would advise you not to be too undemanding with the castle employees. They need to be kept on their toes or they would feel too relaxed around you."
