Cole Her face was like cinema, every emotion flickering across it in real-time. She couldn't come back from that. I smirked. In the dim room, I watched her squirm under my gaze, the realization hitting her like a slow, creeping wave—she was in my space, my domain. Then, suddenly, she shoved the covers aside and got off the bed. My eyes snapped away from the closet, following her movements. "What are you doing?" My voice came out low, tension pressing against my skull. "Giving you your space back." Her tone was sharp, but her hands trembled as she bent awkwardly, searching around the bed. "Rebecca." I forced down the growl climbing my throat. She ignored me, straightening up once she found whatever she was looking for. "Where are you going to sleep? The couch?" I asked. She froze.
