Chapter 24 Lots to Discuss

Dominic's POV

I watch Ashleigh walk out of the dining room with Aurora in her arms and man that little girl looks exhausted. She looks like she will pass right out before they even get up the stairs. I sit back down at the table as I turn to Alpha Dave, then turn to Lucas saying, " It's not meant to be disrespectful at all towards you, Alpha Dave, but I do have a proposition for your head warrior Lucas... Lucas' talents and experience could be a great asset to our pack with future training of all packs... So if anything changes and you would like a change of scenery Lucas. I would love for you to consider coming to my pack and being a head warrior for me. To keep helping the training of lower packs, spreading training techniques and knowledge like we do every year with the smaller, less experienced packs. Especially since you have single-handedly whipped this group into shape already."

Lucas smiles and nods, "That is an amazing honor, and thank you, but as long as Alpha Dave is around I'll probably stay here. He is the one that gave me the chance and made sure I had the proper training to get this far, so I would love to stay and help him for as long as I can. But if I do ever want a change of scenery I will for sure let you know... thank you, Alpha Dominic." He responds and smiles at me, then bowing to Alpha Dave.

"Well Lucas, I appreciate your loyalty and dedication, but you should consider this at least because this could be a great opportunity for you to expand and spread your knowledge and do what you love to do. Just consider it and it's ok either way." Dave explains this to Lucas causing him to pause for a second, then nod again as they both smile at me.

I stand up as I say, "I do have to call my father and inform him of everything going on, then I'll head back upstairs to my Luna. Gentlemen have a wonderful night and we will see you all bright and early tomorrow. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask." I stand up, giving a small bow as the rest of them stand up bowing back.

I leave the dining room, trekking through the house and out the front door to the outside. It's so nice and cool, which is so calming as I take a deep breath loving that fresh forest air. I pull my phone out of my pocket and dial my father's number. He picks up after the first ring, "Hello son I hope all is well. What's the update?" My father works pretty late so it doesn't surprise me he is up still.

"Hello, father... Um.. things have been all kinds of crazy today... I'll start this morning. So I sent a guard with the girls to make sure they are safe while Nate, Wes, and I try to get into the rogue's phone I found. We were successful, but they had most of the phone cleared.. but Wes knew some tricks that revealed old messages between him and the Luna here. She gave them a picture of Ashleigh telling them that she doesn't care if they kill her or just sell her, but that they needed to get rid of her. The guy who raped her is now out of jail and was the guy I saw talking with the Luna last night that I told you about. He shot Pauly and sent him to the pack hospital, but he is fine and already out because of the rapid healing. But once he shot Pauly, he was trying to take Ashleigh away. I was able to get hold of him by throwing him out the window but Aurora was running to us as the guy kidnapped her, putting a gun to her head and demanding Ashleigh as a trade for her daughter's safety. He claimed he paid Ashleigh's parent's debt, so somehow Ash is his. So we go to Ashleigh's parent's house, asking them what he is talking about. They finally confess that she is not their actual daughter and that Luna sold her to them, but they couldn't pay her the amount she asked so they did payments over the years... But eventually ran out of money and couldn't keep paying the payments, so the Luna convinced them to sell Ashleigh to the guy who ended up raping her to pay off their debts.. they obviously said yes because we know what happened... When we went to the Alpha with the evidence we had against his Luna.. She confessed that Ashleigh's mother was a human but also Alpha Dave's goddess-given mate. The Alpha and Ashleigh's mother made love the one night they met and the Luna kidnapped her mother and tortured her for weeks in their cells without the Alpha's knowledge of the course. The Luna eventually found out Ashleigh's mother was pregnant with Ashleigh, so she made sure she went to full term with just enough food and water to get her through. When she had Ashleigh with no medical help and a malnourished body.. she died from the pain and blood loss. The Luna took the baby and sold her and we know where it all went from there. The Alpha was livid with his Luna and for her misdeeds, so she is to be executed tomorrow morning... We then took our group to the place where Ashleigh's tormentor was holding Aurora captive. The warriors and I keep hidden in our wolf form around the cabin as Ashleigh gave herself up to release her daughter safely to her best friend.. who ends up being Nate's mate. But the hardest part was when she traded herself for her daughter, she got beat and almost raped again, but I got there in time... It took a little bit to get into the cabin and luckily I was able to only slightly get injured by the traps he had set up around the house.. because he knew I wouldn't let her come alone. I got there in time before he could do any more damage, but he beat her with a belt and she has some permanent damage for sure. By the scars already there, it looks like she has been through this before with him and he confirmed it... But once we killed him and got her back safely, I was able to get her back, cleaned up, and taken care of calming her down.. but in that process, she wanted to mate and be marked by me after everything... So you don't have to ask me twice, so she is now a part of me as well. I couldn't be happier about it... We were going to head back tomorrow morning, but since Alpha Dave discovered Ashleigh is his daughter, he has asked us to stay to help support him in his time of need since tomorrow he will be losing his chosen mate. So we will stay for a couple of days to help out then head back... It might be a little rough though because Ashleigh's half-siblings are blaming her for their mother's execution.. so this situation has been tension-filled for sure. But hopefully, we can help out a little more than get home safely and as soon as possible." I say as I take a deep breath in than let it out because that was a lot to explain.

"Holy hell that's a lot to happen in one day... wow.. is Aurora OK? and how is Ashleigh feeling after everything... I mean come on everything she has ever known was a lie to her. I bet she is having a hard time right?" My father asks me as I feel stupid because I don't know... Goddess, I'm an awful mate.. how have I not asked if she is ok?

"Um... Aurora is fine but Ashleigh... I don't know, she was overwhelmed with all the almost being raped and beaten so I made sure to get her cleaned up and try to make her feel more at ease... That's when we got distracted with.. something else that made us both feel way better.. then to dinner and she left dinner early with Aurora for bed... um, I feel stupid I didn't ask her.. f*#k I'm an awful mate!" I say back to no one really in particular... I'm more of beating myself up at this point.

"No you're not an awful mate son.. time flies by when you're having...fun.. for sure, and I, out of all people, know how much that mate bond affects you and your body... Don't beat yourself up too much. Every new-found mate couple always gets carried away with mating. It's just the sparks and feelings the mate bond brings. Don't give yourself too hard a time but make sure to check on her... I bet she might need someone to talk to for all this stress and you're her mate, so who better? I'm glad you're going to stay and help her family.. that helps out everyone in the long run.. so smart choice." My father says back making me feel a little bit better.

"Thanks that does help me feel like I'm not an awful mate so far, but the decision to stay I left up to Ashleigh... I felt like that was more of her decision to make, than mine and she wanted to stay so I agreed... She is so strong, I think if I was her I would have said no because now her new-found siblings are accusing her of their mother's execution and making her feel worse.. and yet here she stays to help." I respond as I run my hand through my hair thinking about everything that's happened today.

"You have an amazing Luna. She is stronger than any human I have ever met and I have met a lot... That's her motherly side coming out when she wants to stay and help, even if it's not in her best interest. But she is smart and I bet she knows this will be good for everyone in the long run. I can't wait to meet her... Your mother still won't stop harassing me, so she won't be happy that you guys are staying longer, but she will understand why... But your mother had taken it upon herself to do something for Ashleigh and Aurora to make sure they feel welcome. Between you and me, she has put an extra room right across from yours for Aurora so you can all still be by each other while having your own space.. she is decorating it, as we speak... I keep telling her to go to sleep, but she wants to make sure it gets done before we welcome the girls to the pack." I chuckle at my father's response because that does sound like something my mother would do... She can sometimes be too much, but I think my girls will love her.

"That does sounds like something amazing and time-consuming that my mother would do... I'm glad she is so accepting of my mate and her daughter.. everyone here was so dead set on her being human, so she is not worth it and I just don't understand that. I just figured that the moon goddess thought she was perfect for me, so I'll take her word over anyone else's and I'm glad I did because she is perfect.. at least for myself." I respond as if it's just obvious, but not to all, I guess.

"A lot of werewolves see everything in relationships with mates as black and white with no color and here you are accepting Ashleigh who is a rainbow to those people.. not everyone is going to accept her as your Luna and that's something you need to come to terms with. But that's not their decision to make about who the Luna is.. it's ok that they don't see how amazing she is because then they would be trying to fight for her... Just let them think what they want because they don't know the actual truth... Just do your thing and enjoy life the way you want because you and those girls deserve it." My father is so wise and this is why I always need him to talk to about anything... I love my mom but my dad is the one I go to for any advice needed. I don't know what I would do without him.

"Thank you for listening to my rant and just talking about everything once again... you don't know how much I appreciate it." I sincerely say to him. "Son, I will always tell you that you can talk to me anytime and I mean it.. I'll always mean it. Now go talk to your Luna and be the support she needs right now because this is for her now, not yourself at this point.. and keep the mating to a minimum as of right now until you get back here.. it might make you both feel better for the moment. But she needs emotional support no matter how badly she might say she needs physical attention... Take my word that.. that's her hiding from her feelings. I know that sounds crazy but I bet you she will try to hide from her feelings behind the amazing feelings of the Mate bond with you because they make you both feel so good.. but you have to resist or leave it at a minimum. I'll talk to you later son.. good luck." He says back to me as I smile at his comment.. then hear him hang up the call.

I put my phone in my pocket as I walk back into the pack house, ascending the stairs and down to the end of the hall where my current room is at. I slowly and quietly open the bedroom door since I didn't hear any sounds coming from them in the room, making me assume they are indeed asleep. I walk in and there is only darkness. Of course, I can see in the dark very well being a werewolf, so I glance around the room that's covered in darkness.

My eyes trail around until I see my two girls lying on the bed. I walk to their side and what I see makes my heart so happy. Ashleigh has her arms wrapped around Aurora, with her baby's head on her chest and her head lying on the top. They both look so peaceful in each other's comforting embrace.

I strip out of my clothes and put on a pair of shorts as I try to slide into bed behind my girls. I pull the blanket down slightly to help me slide into bed more, unnoticed. But once the blanket goes down far enough I can see Ashleigh is wearing one of my shirts with close to nothing underneath.

Her in our clothes is probably the sexiest thing I have seen her in beside her birthday suit, of course.

Miles says, making me scoff and respond

Idiot, she looks good in anything.. but yes, I think she does look good in our shirt for sure. She already smells like us with our mark, but this increased that smell and I love it too.

I lay down on the bed as my hand trailed up her thigh lightly because I can't help but touch that sexy exposed body of hers... But this is making her moan softly under my touch. I purr at the sound of her moan. I have to take a deep breath in and then out.. calming down. I have to make myself stop because Aurora is in here and I can smell a little bit of arousal because of that one touch... So I had better stop before there is a problem. I snuggle up behind Ashleigh, wrapping my arm around her and Aurora, taking in their scents and letting the relaxing moment take over as I passed out from exhaustion.
