Chapter 13 Suprise Attack

Ashleigh's POV

I'm holding Dominic's hand as he leads us out of the theater. We throw away all of our trash and continue out of the building. But I get a rock caught in my shoe so I let go of his hand to stop and get it out quickly. As my finger reaches around the inside of my shoe trying to get the pebble out, I keep looking up to see how far behind I am and not too much. The three of them make small talk about the movie and I don't exactly join in because I didn't watch the movie, since I couldn't get Dominic off my mind... So I just keep fighting for the moving object in my shoe, until I finally get hold of it to get it out.

"Lovely day for a walk, huh?" I heard from behind me as I turned around quickly to see Mrs.Willows smirking at us. I think I'm the only one to hear her since no one else has noticed her except me. So I decided to answer as nicely as possible, no matter how much I don't like her, she is still my boss.. for now, "Yes, since it's my day off, Dominic is taking us around the town for the day before we walk home.. but it is the perfect weather to be out walking around."

She hums, staring at me for a little too long for my comfort as she says, "I hope you have a memorable walk.. be safe... you never know what might be out there, but you have Dominic now so that probably doesn't matter, right?" I pause taking in what she just said sounding like she is mocking me, before I decide to suspiciously answer her.

"Yea sure doesn't matter. You have a good rest of the day yourself and yes stay safe." I responded to her but I can't help feeling like that was some sort of cryptic message. I turn around to see the three of them waiting for me just a little bit down the street.

"Hey, everything ok with the wicked witch of the west?" Stef asks as I still have a confused look on my face I quickly respond, "Yea... I think so, she just said something weird, that's all.. but I'm probably thinking too much about it. It's fine."

I look up and see Dominic staring at me for a moment until he decides to lead us to a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant.

They find us a table almost instantly as we sit down at a nice little corner booth. We spent the whole dinner making small talk and joking the entire time. I love this... I wish Stefanie could come with me because I'm going to miss my best friend when we go. She has been all I have had for so long, so just imagining my life without her almost seems impossible.

We decide to stay there to have dessert because it had a couple of different things we wanted. Ice cream for Stefanie and Aurora.. as Dominic and I both ordered cheesecake just different flavors. I got the raspberry-covered cheesecake and he got the strawberry-covered cheesecake.

We stare at each other from across the table as we eat our cheesecakes. I offer him a bite of mine, lifting my fork, as he smiles and I lean across the table, feeding it to him. He smiles and winks at me. He leans in with his fork giving me a bite of his too and it is cheesecake so of course, I love it, but just the fact it was his, made me love it even more.

We all finish our desserts as we leave the restaurant to make our way back to the apartment. The sun is going down and looking so beautiful with the orange, pink and yellow sky. We enjoy it as we slowly meander down the walking path, through the trees enjoying the last little bit of light, before the sun goes away, which should be any minute.

"Mommy, I'm tired, can you hold me?" Aurora says as she yawns... I laugh at this as I nod and pick her up into my motherly hold. I see Dom in my peripherals bending down to tie his shoes but we continue down the path because he can catch up to us.

Dominic's POV

I bend down to retie my shoelaces since I have my hands available with Ashleigh holding Aurora now. Tonight has been perfect and I can't wait to do this for the rest of our lives together. I'm so lucky to have them. I know it will be hard for the girls to leave Stefanie, I can tell by tonight just how close they are with her, but maybe I can convince her to come with us or make sure to help her visit us and us visit her, as much as possible. I'll have to figure out something for the girls. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

ROGUES DOM! I SMELL ROGUES NEARBY!

Miles yells in my head as my eyes shoot around and I don't see the girls or rogues. I jump up.. jogging forward in the direction they were walking in just a minute ago. I see them stopped with about 6 men.. maybe more, standing around them, "Well hello little ladies, what are you doing out here all by yourselves?" I hear the one rogue standing in front of the rest ask as I walked out instantly saying, "who says they're alone." I let my Alpha Ora spill off of me. It's there to ward off enemies with a warning. I want them to know who they are messing with before they make a mistake and get themselves killed.

"Oh, my my.. a visiting Alpha huh? Oh... I heard about you. I know who you are, you're the infamous Alpha Dominic. Who's Robin hood ways have been heard far and wide, always here to help out anyone in need. How convenient for you to be here." the main guy who was talking to the girls, says to me with so much spite in every word.

"How about, since you know who I am, that we let the ladies head on home and we can talk about this with just us men," I say back to him in hopes he will only want to deal with me and not them. "Dom no," Ashleigh says from behind me gaining the guy's attention. He looks between Ashleigh and me... I think putting it all together... Dammit... I was hoping he would be stupid and not figure out she is my mate.. but I don't think that's going to happen.

"Well, this surely is my lucky day... How did I get lucky enough to have my two jobs in one spot?" A sadistic laugh comes out of his mouth with a malicious grin plastered across his face as he continues, "there is no way I'm letting them go, they are one of the things I have to take care of.. because we know all about you and your little mate there Alpha... Congratulations on finding her just to lose her." I let out the breath I was holding in because this is it.. dammit.. this is the time I have to do this and hopefully, won't scare them away. But I won't let anything happen to them.

I turn around, locking eyes with Ashleigh as I say, "Baby, this is my warning, please don't be scared. Just know no matter what happens, I'm here to protect you... Just please don't be scared." She nods at me as she steps back to Stefanie, holding Aurora tight to her... I hear that sadistic laughing from the guy in front of us again, but louder this time.

"Oh... now isn't that interesting.. she doesn't know yet? Well, this will be entertaining then, huh?" he says to me as he throws a punch and I catch it instantly. I used his fist to throw him back. "What are you rogues doing here?! You're trespassing on pack lands and I'm sure you know it." I spat back at him, trying to take his attention off the girls.

"We are trespassing, are we?" he retorts as the guys around him start to chuckle. Making it seem as if they are not... Maybe they were let on the property, but by who and why? The two guys behind him attack me at the same time as I kick one, then punch the other. I get a couple more punches in on those guys as I see another guy approach from behind.

I sweep my leg across, hitting his legs, making him fall to the ground, trying to just knock him out. I'm not trying to shed blood in front of the girls, because that's the best way to scare them. "We are fine Dom, just take care of this, it's ok," Ashleigh says from behind me, I think she can tell I'm holding back for them. But these guys aren't staying down.

"F*#k" is all I can get out, as I say to Miles.

Miles, I need you man, but try not to scare the girls!

I turned to Ashleigh, she has so much worry on her face for me, as I see a wolf coming at me from the side. I duck, dodging his attack as I shift, turning into Miles, instantly taking out another guy's leg. I'm quicker and more agile in this form, so I know I can take care of this faster.

Ashleigh's POV

I'm holding Aurora tight to my chest as we hear the crunching of leaves around us. I look up and see multiple men surrounding us. I held Aurora tighter to my side. When the guy directly in front of us, steps out, smirking at me while he says. "Well, hello little ladies, what are you doing out here all by yourselves?" I have no idea what to say in response, as I see Dominic's figure almost appear out of nowhere, standing right in front of us responding, "Who says they're alone?"

I let out a sigh of relief as I see him trying to protect us, but there are so many more men than him. None are as big as him, but they still have more. I see Dominic staring the main guy down, as the guy realizes something smirking at Dominic. "Oh, my my.. a visiting Alpha huh? Oh... I heard about you. I know who you are, you're the famous Alpha Dominic. Who's Robin hood ways have been heard far and wide, always here to help out anyone in need. How convenient for you to be here." The guy says with so much spite about Dominic and I guess all the good he has done to be known for. I didn't realize how many people he has helped just to be heard from far and wide. It's sweet in itself to think about how good he is, not just to us but to anyone he can be.

Dominic responds instantly, "How about, since you know who I am, that we let the ladies head on home and we can talk about this with just us men." that makes my breath hitch at the thought, I step forward and say to him, "Dom no."I know he heard me but he doesn't respond to me. He keeps holding his staring at the guy, not breaking eye contact. But the guy looks at me, then back to Dominic smirking again.

"Well, this surely is my lucky day... How did I get lucky enough to have my two jobs in one spot." he says this as he lets out the creepiest laugh I have ever heard in my life, with a creepy grin to match as he continues. "there is no way I'm letting them go, they are one of the things I have to take care of because we know all about you and your little mate there Alpha. Congratulations on finally finding her just to lose her."

This comment makes my heart race. What does that mean? Is he going to try to hurt me and my baby? What about Dom... I look up and see Dominic let out a big breath as he turns back, locking eyes with me, looking sad as he says, "Baby, this is my warning, please don't be scared. Just know no matter what happens, I'm here to protect you. Just please don't be scared."

Oh, this is it.. he is going to show me the side he was afraid of me seeing... Here? Why here? Is this the time for that? I just nod as I hold Aurora by my side more. I can feel Stefanie's arms wrap around me as well in a protective hold.

"Oh... now isn't that interesting.. she doesn't know yet? Well, this will be entertaining then, huh?" Wait.. he knows? How does he know, but I don't? I hear the guy say that comment as he throws a punch at Dom, trying to catch him off guard. Dominic catches his hand and throws him back, questioning him.

"What are you rogues doing here?! You're trespassing on pack lands and I'm sure you know it." What does he mean by rogues? Here he goes with the pack stuff again... I don't understand what he is trying to find out.. is he trying to distract them from us?

"We are trespassing are we?" They all laughed at Dominic's comment. Wait, does that mean they are not trespassing? I see two guys come at Dominic at once and he easily takes them down, but he is barely kicking them and hitting them as if he is trying to hold back, but I just want him to take care of the situation instead of trying to spare us and our feelings.

"We are fine Dom, just take care of this. It's ok." I say to him because I can tell that he is holding back for us. "F*#k" is all I can hear him say. He turns around looking back at me as I see a wolf coming at him from the side. He ducks as the wolf flies over his head, missing him.

All I can hear next is the sound of clothes ripping as Dominic jumps to the side, turning into the beautiful majestic beast I have come to feel so comfortable with. He lunges forward, grabbing hold of a guy's leg and snapping it with ease.

"Miles" is all I say, realizing what Dominic was saying. I would know him when I see him. So he was the first one to know I was his mate. That's sweet. I think he heard me say his name as he turns wagging his tail at me. He was telling me the truth about being a werewolf? He has been trying to tell me the truth and here I am thinking he is joking... Even Stefanie believed him before I did.. This whole situation is crazy.. saying it is one thing, but seeing it is completely different.

My mind is blown but not in a bad way.. just in complete and utter awe. He is so gorgeous, as he breaks bones, swiftly and quickly running circles with ease around these guys, in such beauty, making this fighting look so graceful like a dance. Watching him kick ass is actually somehow a turn-on... How am I getting turned on by a wolf fighting right now? Maybe it's because I know it's Dom.

I don't know, but Miles is stunning and I can't take my eyes off him. He is hypnotizing me in every sense of the word. Why would he ever think I would be afraid of him? He knew how I felt when I was with him... Maybe he was just scared to see how I would react... Or maybe Aurora.. but either way, this is amazing.

Dominic's POV

I snap the leg bone in half so easily, as I hear from behind me, "Miles." I wag my tail, letting her know she is right. I knew she would figure it out right away. I keep fighting one guy after the next guy, but I can feel Ashleigh's eyes on me the entire time. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. That is until I smell her arousal, filling my nostrils. So I guess that answers that question.

I glance up and she is watching my every move, but now knowing she likes it, gives me more confidence than before as I completely make my way through the men, ending this once and for all for tonight.

I take a look around and none of the men are moving anymore. I sniff in the air to make sure that's all of them, as I hear from behind me. "Miles come here please." Man.. that's Ashleigh, I don't know what to do... What is she going to say??

I slowly turn around as I walk back to her. She kneels with Aurora still securely in her arms as she asks, "Now why would you or Dominic ever think I would be scared of you? From the moment I first saw you, I told you that you were a beautiful, majestic beast. I even told you how comfortable I felt with you. How could I ever be scared of you? You have helped me many times already and you just helped save us all." She says touching our face softly, as Miles pushes into her touch with his face, loving every second of this attention.

I want to change back so bad but Miles isn't able to get out all the time, so I'm just going to let him enjoy this. "Wait you have met him before, you just didn't know it was him?" Stefanie asks to clarify. As all three of the ladies are now petting me. Ash nods at her as she explains. "The other night, right after I met Dom and Mike harassed me... Miles protected me from Mike and made me feel better. He even came over last night and we sat outside together. It was so nice." She says making Miles' tail wag more at her praise.

"Well, in that case, I agree... You are a beautiful, majestic beast." Stefanie says to Miles, still petting him. "Mommy, he is Beast! He saved us from the bad wolves just like in the movie." Aurora says with excitement in her voice, which makes my tail wag so hard knowing they are fine with me.

See, I told you they would love us!

Miles says to me with so much pride in his voice.

I know you did and I'm sorry for not taking your word, I was just scared of losing them.

I say back to Miles a little shamefully.

Don't let it get to you Dom, they know now and love us still... that's all that matters.

he says back so nicely, making me feel a little better.

"Alright Miles, I would love to formally introduce you to my daughter Aurora and my best friend Stefanie."

"Miles? But I thought that was Daddy," asks Aurora, which makes me feel so good that she is still OK with me not even looking remotely afraid about me. "Oh it is daddy lovebug but he has two sides to him, Dominic you have already met, and now Miles. But still the same great guy." She says with what sounds like love in her voice.

"Ok! Thank you daddy for saving us," Aurora says to me hugging us as Ashleigh and Stefanie join in making my heart soar higher than I ever thought it could. "Alright, time to get back to our place before anything else happens," Ashleigh states as everyone stands up. She picks up Aurora again as I lead the way, trying to stay as alert as possible. Making sure nothing else bad happens tonight to my girls.
