Chapter 19
Tyler’s POV
After watching Jason clean the mess, he and Matt left. I am now alone and left in my thoughts. It’s so weird how being around people can make you miss companionship. How did all of this suddenly happen? How am I going to raise twins on my own? Do I really need the support of my parents? They seemed so nice and they want me in their life. They know everything before I was kidnapped, but what happened after? I only remember my fake family. How did I end up with them?
I ponder for a while and decide to order pizza. I call them up and wait for it. I watch Grimm for a while and hear the gate bell ring. It must have arrived. I take some money and make my way down. I reach the gate and open it. The pizza guy walks in. He’s quite handsome. “Hey, I’m Fabio. I have your order. It will be $20.50 and your number.” Urg, what a turn off, I’m done with flirts. “Here’s your money. The change should compensate you for my number. Keep it.” I tell him with sass and close the gate. I really shouldn’t be so mean, blame it on my hormones.
I eat and go to bed. I lie in my bed and think. I really should go visit Hannah and Jaden. They deserve an explanation. I can’t tell them the whole truth, but I can condense it. My parents told me not to tell everybody because there will be an investigation into it. I also want to speak to Jaden’s father about why he dislikes Hannah. I love me some gossip. Lastly, I want to ask them if I still belong to their pack or my parents. I would love to have dual citizenship between the two. I rub my stomach and fall into darkness.
My eyes flutter open to the sound of a large hooter. It’s the city, that’s what you can expect. I smile remembering that I have a family to go to. I feel like Jason when he first snatched the pudding, I’m happy and content for once. I shower and eat my breakfast. It’s still 8AM, I can’t go to the pack house yet. I should go to the mall. I doubt any shops will be open, but I can look at the stuff in the windows. I grab my keys and go down to the road. I left my car at the pack house.
I raise my hand and a taxi immediately stops. I get in and see a lady. She smiles at me and asks me, “Where to sir?” I give her a smile back and tell her, “Please take me to your best mall”. She nods and starts driving. We pass the buildings; some are tall, and some are short. I see all the people running into buildings because they are late. Next, we pass a huge hospital. I want to work in a hospital one day and save lives. I hope to open my own clinic one day. I first need to train as a pack doctor.
Lastly, we pull up to a huge building. It looks fairly empty, but there are occasional life forms visible. I feel the need to have a chocolate smoothie. I find a smoothie shop and go in. I order my smoothie at the counter and sit outside by the chairs and tables. I should start looking for baby things. I have a few months left, but I need to start now otherwise my parents will insist on buying everything. I saw the glint in my dad’s eyes. I still haven’t unpacked all the clothes he has bought me.
I finish my smoothie and throw the dirt into the dustbin. I walk around looking at the things in the windows. There are dresses, shirts and other human essentials there. I pass an underwear shop, there is a lady that’s standing in the window. She waves at me. I blush and slowly creep away. I finally find a baby shop. It’s actually open so I walk in. There are various things for babies. What will I need? Should I find a job to pay for everything? I pack of nappies cost so much.
I see a salesman and walk up to him. I need advice. “Sorry sir, I wonder if you can help me. I’m looking for baby stuff, twins to be exact. What would you suggest I buy?” He smiles at me and ushers me to follow him. We walk to the isle that has a whole lot of stuff. “For new-borns, you will need nappies, clothes, a changing table and prams”, he trails off to tell me about more things. I already lost track of what I need.
I think I should write a list. “Um, I already forgot about a lot of things, could you maybe write it down?” I ask him. He nods and we walk to the till. He starts writing the list. I stand here listening to him. He seems to like babies and he smells like a wolf. That’s why he’s so understanding. I’m glad he didn’t ask me about my mate because I don’t know what I’d say. He hands me the list, “if you need anything more please free to call me, I added my number to the list.” I smile at him, “Thank you, I certainly will. Have a good day.” I walk out of the store.
