“I had no choice,” I answered. “It was the king who summoned me, and I cannot do anything about it. When mom died, I didn’t know how to continue my life, so I practically did what we were doing before she passed on to eternity.”
Vissi nodded.
“By the way, how have you been living here? It must not have been easy. I mean, given the circumstances when your mother and you were driven out of this place, it must not have been easy coming back having to deal with your mother’s unknown enemies.”
That’s right, Vissi knows my life and why mom was ousted from this palace in the past. He was the only one who accepted me for who I am before. Since my mom and I have been practically thrown away, nobody wanted to be associated with us except him.
