Richard decreed that all young children and elders and anybody that could be moved, would be placed into a sealed chamber hidden away. This chamber could only be opened by the magic of the elders and wouldn’t be found by anyone that didn’t already know of it existence. Richard and Elizabeth spent a few moments together before he had to leave her. She was too weak to leave her bed after just have given birth and losing a substantial amount of blood. She had no doubts that Richard would do everything within his power to keep her safe. With a small goodbye and a kiss, he left her. Richard needed to rally his troops and save his coven. It wasn’t long before a patrol came to give Richard some news. The townspeople were rallied by the front gate of their estate and had outnumbered their nearly 250 people by at least double. They all seemed very angry and determined to wipe out the entirety of the coven. Richard fought well and took down many of the townspeople all on his own. His coven was fighting valiantly for what seemed like hours. Unexpectedly Richard took a pitchfork straight through the back and another towns person came to his front to decapitate him in front of all his people. Unfortunately for the rest, it didn’t take long to defeat them without their strong leader. They managed to slay every one of the vampires fighting and proceeded to advance toward the estate house. Once inside, they slayed everyone who wasn’t locked away including Elizabeth in her bed. When they were about the leave the elders, who were with the children, came out of their sealed chamber to enchant the townspeople. They put a vail over the humans’ minds making it so they would never remember the events of tonight or the existence of the coven. If only they had known about this spell even a few hours before all of this bloodshed could have been avoided and for that, most could never forgive themselves. The coven was only left with 14 children ranging from age nine to one day old. And six elders. They vowed to teach each of the children all they knew about what was and how to grow their coven. The young boy who was to become ruler, wouldn’t be able to do so for nineteen years. Therefore, the elders took that time to prepare him for his roll and help other understand the importance of keeping up with old traditions.
