CHAPTER FOURTEEN: French Foreign Legion

869 Words
The wedding was a quicky at the courthouse. They of course had Zach and Maggie there. Then Alex called his mother, Pauline, sister, Samantha, and brother in law, Derek. Who all showed up. Pauline was not the least bit happy about the situation. Though, she was proud of her son. Adding that his father would be too. For doing what ,she said, was the right thing. Vic called Rosalinda. Who told her she was proud of her for making the right decision. Saying she would come when they had the church wedding. The woman was never happy. They had a simple dinner planned afterwards at a nearby restaurant. They were just getting their food when Vic's water broke. That's when Alex lost his mind. He could handle a busy E.R. all day or night. Yet, Vic goes into labor. He can't think. So, Pauline, Samantha, and Maggie helped her to the car. Zach with Derek's help took care of the food. That way Alex could follow the girls. Who seemed to be in no rush at all. Once Vic informed them that the doctor said it was normal with twins. What she failed to tell anyone was that she had been having lower back pain on and off all day. Needless to say no one was happy with Vic. They weren't telling her that though until after the babies were born. They made it to the hospital in record time. Pretty sure Alex broke the speed limit. When they got to the room the nurse said Doctor Stanford was on his way. Then she asked if the student doctors could watch the delivery. Vic told her "I Don't Care If You Bring In the French f*****g Foreign Legion. Just get These Babies Out Of Me." She was gritting her teeth. Attempting to breathe as her stomach contracted. They had just put an oxygen mask on her when the doctor walked in. Asking the stupidest question ever. "Are you having a contraction?" Vic ripped the mask off her face. Throwing it across the room before snapping "No I'm f*****g Practicing!" Alex was trying to tell her to breathe. Until she told him to "Shut the FUUUCK *contraction* Up This Is Your Fault. You Just Had To Kiiiss *contraction* Me." At least the student doctors were entertained. With exception to the young man who looked like he might be sick. Doctor Stanford checked her saying "Okay, these boys want out. We are going to start pushing." Vic glared at him saying "WHO'S WEEE *Push*? f**k you!"she was pushing every time the doctor said push. Alex was telling her she was doing well. To which she was telling him she hated him. Two hours later they had two perfect little boys. They were identical in every way. Both weighed just under five pounds. They would have to stay on oxygen until their lungs were stronger but they were absolutely perfect. Steven Andrew Keen was born three and a half minutes before Franklin Ryan Keen. Both weighing four pounds six ounces. It was July twelfth. They looked just like their father but had their mothers hazel eyes. Vic felt like she had seen them before but couldn't place where. She also felt that she may be going crazy. Alex and Vic spent most of their time at the hospital after she was released. Alex's family would come by every few days. With Maggie stopping by at least once every day that she worked. Zach would come by once a week. Vic actually apologized to Alex for cussing him out. He told her not to worry about it. He wasn't mad at her. They were finally able to bring the twins home after a month. They quickly learned that Frank was the one that cried the most. Stevie would only cry if he wanted something. Frank woke up every four hours. Where as Stevie slept through the night. That led to Frank staying in Vic's room. So while they were physically identical. Their personalities were far from it. Every one at the hospital fawned over the boys. Alex had photos in his wallet. He was constantly having to show them off. Even while trying to eat. Alex ended up just hanging pictures in the break room. So he could eat in peace. It seems women really are crazy about babies. Vic of course felt like she was losing her mind. She couldn't work for the first month that the boys were home. Even though they kept her busy. She still wanted to work. Though Alex wanted her to be home with them. That was an argument he wouldn't win. She also never wanted to leave them, ever. It was seriously confusing. Hence the losing her mind. In spite of everything Vic also realized that she was in love with Alex. It scared the living hell out of her. She wondered what she should do about it. Vic just knew he didn't feel the same way about her. If she told him "Hey by the way I'm in love with you." He would probably say "No you aren't." Yeah, there's no way he could love her too. She was definitely losing her mind.
