Maid of the Moon

2:

I woke up sweating. It’s the day before my eighteenth birthday and I had the same nightmare I’ve been having for the past week. It’s a flashback from twelve years ago when we discovered my power.

“Hey shadow?” I yawn

“What do you want? You woke me up.” She grumbled from the back of my head.

“Its our first day working with the royal family from the West Moon Kingdom,”

“How could I forget”

“Shadow as Royal spirit tamers we vowed to help all beings in need of help”

“Yeah but I heard Prince Axel’s wolf is a real monster” she retorted “apparently he nearly killed the last one they hired.

“Shadow we’re different, you know we were chosen by Selene and sol for this.” I replied

“And considering they are at war with each other, we must have been important.”

“Fine, now hurry up”

I rolled out of my four poster king sized bed and staggered to the bathroom where I called for my maids to tidy my room while I shower.

I stepped inside my bathroom, locked the door and stripped off my shirt and pants before turning on the shower.

I moaned as the hot water hit my skin. Goosebumps appeared where it couldn’t reach and my hazelnut hair dripped droplets of water from its strands.

I washed for around ten minutes. When I was done I stepped out, dried off and brushed my teeth. I unlocked the bathroom door to find an aqua blue dress that looked like it would reach my knees along with my belt and some black boots.

I pulled the dress over me and enjoyed the free feeling that it gave me.

When I was done I walked downstairs to the dining hall to join the rest of the Royal pack in which we live.

Mother and father had the foot of the table set out for me when we found out about the goddess’s plan for me to bring the different shifters together.

I usually enjoy sitting near the pups as they remind me of myself when I was their age.

So when I take my seat, the pups usually come running over to ask questions.

I was in the middle of answering a young boy called Chester’s question when my father’s voice boomed through the hall.

“Before we all Finnish I would like you all to say your fair wells to your future queen and my daughter Roxan as she will soon be making her way to the West moon kingdom to help tame their future kings wolf”

And before I knew it I was crowded by a large group of my family members and friends, hugging me and patting me on the back.

Then my father and mother approached me and asked to talk to me in the throne room.

This had to be something important if it was in the throne room.

We headed towards the room and I saw mother giving father an anxious look.

We entered and mother and father sat down I stayed standing in front of them.

Father heaved in a sigh.

“Rox, what we are about to tell you could change your life forever”

What did he mean

What could it be?

“I don’t have a good feeling about this” shadow said at the back of my mind

“What is it?”

“The new king of the Ash Moon Kingdom, Alpha king Mason has requested that you become his wife,”

W..wife

I can’t do it!

“Decline the offer” shadow roared in anger

“I’m sorry father but I will have to decline, I would like to find my true mate” I state “And I’m not even eighteen yet!”

“I know hun but he is a good man and what if you’re fated mate is a low rank!”

Mother said

“What! Do you care about status more than your own daughter!” I screamed, tears prickling the corners of my eyes, “Selene and Sol granted me these gifts, the least I could do to repay them is respect their wishes!”

“Honey, I..”

“Don’t you Dare Honey me! And in case you’ve forgotten, if it weren’t for me you, Ethan and Uncle John would not be breathing at this very moment!” I yelled before using my newly acquired vampire speed to get as far away from them as possible.

Alpha Prince Axel P.O.V

As I was eating my breakfast all I could think about was a tall brunette with electric green eyes and pale skin. She was wearing an aqua blue dress along with an ancient warriors belt with a kingdom symbol on the hilt of the sword. She was with an Omega male, but instead of abusing the boy she was helping him up and healing a wound with a gentle smile on her face. She looked like an Alpha female considering the belt she was wearing looked like it was from a Royal family. Suddenly I was pulled out of my trance by my father.

“Son, you best go and get into some training attire,”

“May I ask why father?”

“You are meeting another wolf tamer today,”

“Father, this is the twelfth trainer this year,”

He sighed and placed his palm over his head

“Axel, this is not any tamer,” he said calmly “This is the Royal Spirit tamer”

At these words my eyes grew wide

The Royal Spirit tamer was said to have been granted gifts from each goddess and was the reason for the war between the Selene and Sol to cease.

“T..the Royal Spirit tamer?!”

“Yes son she should be here in about five hours”

I ran to my room and changed into my training gear, still dwelling on that girl from my dream.
