CHAPTER THREE Before Ross left for work the next morning, he promised Pam that he'd phone the landlord about the stopped-up tub. "I'll see that he gets a plumber out right away," he said, avoiding his wife's azure eyes as he kissed her goodbye. Looks like today's going to be a real scorcher, Pam thought as she did the breakfast dishes. Already, the air felt hot and muggy so the pretty thirty-year-old decided to start right in on her housework.
