I stared at Alexa as she leaned into Godfreys chest and laid her head on it, while wiping away a tear.
These last few days showed a completely different side to my relationship with her. For the first time in, I guess, our whole life, I saw that she really loved me... like really loved me.
My chest felt tight with emotion, and as if on queue, Godfrey lifted his eyes and met mine in the doorway.
"My Queen."
"We are family now. Maybe you can finally drop the Queen?"
I said, hoping to lighten the mood in the room that felt really heavy. And my light teasing worked, a smile bloomed on both of their faces.
"Sorry, but I don't think I can... but I will try."
With a soft smile on my face, I nodded.
"I would apreciate it."
