3rd person's pov Maya woke up startled, with a banging headache that resonated so deep, she thought the world was banging in sync with it, holding it tightly between her hands so it stopped. She hadn't noticed anything about her surrounding until a deep voice echoed out, offering her some water, “Here's an aspirin for the head ache,” Maya could tell Varek's voice from anywhere, what she couldn't tell was why he was offering this to her. Was he trying to kill me once and for all? The silent way? “Don't worry, it's not poison,” Varek couldn't help but smile at her hesitance. Slowly, Maya stretched her hands out and Varek handed the glass of water to her, with that split second, their hands brushed against each other with both of them feeling an electrifying spark. It was short, so sudden and it was gone the minute it had surged, “Thank you,” Maya whispered in gratitude before taking the medicine. Silence stretched out in the room, Maya couldn't tell if Varek was still with her or not, but she did sense another presence in the room, she was tempted to call out when Varek spoke at the same time, “I had a chat with Sarah recently, after you…blacked out,” Maya notches the softness in his voice, “It was quite off, what she said, I was hoping you could clarify,” Maya tried to remember what had happened before she had blacked out, her memories were fogged but one thing she could remember was the terror that shook her to her bones, even the thought of it now has her shivering. “I know you'd think I'm crazy but, you….all of you….are in danger,” that was what she was going to say, that was what she wanted to say, but the words were stuck in her throat. What she saw….something that could really get her killed. Maya opted for the safer option, “I….I can't remember,” pulling her knees closer to her chest and resting her chin on them. Varek watched her, studied her movement, after his brief conversation with Norman as well as Sarah, he couldn't help but feel sorry for her, Norman had informed him that she might just be as special as she was. If that was so, then there could be a way to use her for the Ashgroove pack benefits, even though he didn't believe any of Norman's superstitions. Maya felt a dip on the bed and she realised Varek had taken a seat. Close to her that she could feel the heat from his body and she wanted more than anything to inch away, but her body froze in place. “You don't have to be scared, I'm not going to hurt you,” his voice came out hoarse and more like a whisper “and whatever it is you are willing to tell me, I'm not going to think you are crazy, or you are after our pack,” Now that was a surprise to Maya, for someone who had been trying to kill her and do away with her since she arrived, she didn't believe a word he said. And she wasn't about to blurt out a stupid dream she had, well at least that was what she thought they were, and nothing more despite how real they felt. Maya remained quiet, just like she always had when he was around. Varek sighed, “I'm trying to protect my pack here, and any information you can give to me would be of great help,” “We have suffered a loss before, by our enemies, always wanting to surpress us, to….dominate, to make us feel less of who we are so we don't fight back,” Maya raised her head and glanced to her right where he was seated. “Hence why they attacked, splitting parents from children, mates from each other, siblings, families, they crushed every hole that we ever had,” The memories of his parents still hurt till that day, “That is why I am so protective, that is why we need to be prepared because as long as we are alive, as long as we are able to build, there would always be a threat gunning for us,” Maya couldn't help but feel sorry for him, for all of them, “I'm sorry for your loss,” pursing her lips. Varek gazed at her without Maya's knowledge, tracing there sharp features, an upturned nose, full lips that were pink and plump, and oblige skin tone, but what he was most curious about were her colour of eyes, and what happend to her. “Well, if you do remember anything, please, do let me know,” Varek cleared his throat before bidding Maya farewell and walking out of the room. Maya was stuck, she didn't know if she really wanted to make this decision, she didn't know if what she saw was even real, it might have just been her fears that Torion was going to find her and make the ashgroove pack pay for offering her refuge. Norman. The name popped up in her head like a lightbulb, Norman was one of the reason why Varek had let her stay in the pack until she was healed. All she had to do now was find her. Once again though, thae bandages on her eyes seems to itch and more than anything, she wanted to take them off. Maya decided to go see mark first, hoping that he would have a solution for her. Although there was no one around to help her, with her hands stretched out, she used the wall as a guide and called out for anyone. No one seems to be around, or rather, no one seemed to want to help her as they watched her clamour around cluelessly, one of them being Tisha, cackling softly, with a loose smirk hanging on her lips. Maya thought she was lonely, she bumped into something which sent her face first to the ground, and the crowd couldn't help but burst out into laughter. Memories of her life in the crimson blood resurfaced, Maya guessed there was truly no difference, holding her scrapped knees to herself as she held the tears back. They all left her there, except for one person, Jackson. “Let me help you up,”
