Third person's pov. They didn't permit Maya to leave, nowhere, for some unknown reason, it seems they were a bit lax with keeping her prisoners, there were no silver chains any longer and she was allowed to wander, in the confines of a room. It had been a week since she was almost burnt to death and Sarah had been a close contact for her, after a while, Maya had become fond of her, so much so that she had been assigned a new room in the pack house. Sarah knocked on the doors of this new room, before pushing the door open, “Hey,” Maya sat by the window sill, taking in the fresh air and wishing more than anything that she could use her vision again, that she could see the environment she was in, however it didn't seem that was likely, “Hi,” she offered a sad smile in return. Sarah noticed this and couldn't help but feel sorry for the girl who was likely the same age as she was but due to the fact that she had been malnourished, her features appeared sickly, “How are you feeling?” Maya shrugged, as she made room for Sarah to take a seat beside her, “Doctor mark says my vision is getting better, but I doubt I would ever get it back,” It was honestly how she felt, it didn't hurt, she just felt, not being able to see where she was going, always needing help if she needed to go out. Sarah listened, sighing in defeat as she wanted to be optimistic but she didn't want to lie either. “It would be nice if I could get a little bit of fresh air,” Sarah's lips were pressed in a firm line as she contemplated a decision that could get her in trouble with the Alpha, but after a while, she didn't really care, “How about we go for a walk, just for a little while,” This has Maya perked up, almost thinking that it was a trap, “ Are you sure? Wouldn't Alpha Varek be mad?” Sarah waved her off, “I'll handle him, shall we?” She grabbed Maya's hands and tugged gently while she stood up, pulling the blind girl with her. They made their way outside and for the first time in a week, Maya took in the fresh air , although the same from the window, it was as though she was surrounded by it and this seemed to calm her down. They strolled for a few minutes, “Y’know, he isn't all that bad, Varek,” Maya knew this, in fact, she didn't for a second think he was bad, compared to the man that took her eye sight, she doubted there was anyone that could have been worse. “He's just trying to protect his pack, Doesn't want history to repeat itself again, that's all,” Maya nodded and kept strolling, however stopped in place when a shiver ran down her spine, she didn't know what it was but the feeling it left in her made her want to return to the room A strange voice came after and Maya remembered feeling this presence before, “Hello Sarah,” Jackson greeted, a broad smile across his face as his gaze flickered between both ladies. Maya took a step back, but due to the fact that Sarah was holding onto her hand, she couldn't go that far. Sarah didn't seem to pick up Maya's discomfort as she chatted with Jackson. “This is Maya, I don't believe the both of you have met,” Sarah introduced. Jackson set his eyes in Maya, raking down her body with a smile on his face, his eyes did longer somewhere around her hands though, “No, I don't believe we've met, it's really nice to meet you,” Maya only nodded but didn't say anything with Sarah taking the lead and filling Jackson in on everything that concerned her while she wondered why this man's presence felt familiar when this was the first time they were meeting. They discussed until Jackson offered to take a look at her eyes, “I am one of the doctors here, that is if you don't mind,” Sarah's hopes were piqued, “You also think she could gain her sight back?” Jackson chuckled, “I didn't say that Sarah, but I would only know if I take a look,” Sarah was overjoyed, knowing Jackson's capabilities, she tugged at Maya's arm. Maya as well had her hopes up, despite the negative feeling she was having which she pushed to the back of her mind. She agreed for him to take a look and they settled on an appointment later in the day in the clinic. “I would be expecting you then,” he bid them goodbye. Sarah was overjoyed as both of them made their way back to the pack house where there seemed to be a gathering. Maya felt that there was a lot of people around and couldn't help but recoil, until Sarah gave an explanation, “there's going to be a party later, a celebration for a new beginning, that's why the crowd is here,” Maya didn't think she would be invited as she wasn't a member of their pack, but Sarah casually invited her nonetheless. “I'll think about it,” that was her answer, but she doubted Varek would want her there in the first place, or any of them as they still saw her as an outsider, and a threat to them. The voices returned in that moment, Maya couldn't distinguish between the voices from the crowd and the voices in her head, but they grew louder and incoherent. Holding her head with both her hands and groaning in pain. Sarah noticed this strange behaviour of hers, “Are you okay? Let's get you to your room,” They both made their way through the crowd and images began flashing across her vision, slow yet at the same time fast, those she saw, she couldn't bear it, laughter turned into dreams of terror. The blood. So much blood. Maya couldn't take it anymore and collapsed in the middle of the crowd.
