FOREVER IS NOT A EVER AFTER

Pam and Serch

We get to the ranch it’s already Friday afternoon, and my sisters decides she wants to have her new friend sleep over.  From the stables I see a red pick-up truck park outside the house, drop a girl and then leave just as fast as it came.  I take out Pollock for a walk, it’s not the same since the injury, it’s like he has doubled his age.  I come back for dinner and it is already dark.

“Hey! Let me introduce you this is Pam! She is new this year” my sister tells me.

“Hello there well I am Gian, please make yourself at home” I just smile at her she seems to be a sweet girl, not as annoying like my sister.

I get myself ready for bed, I take a nice long bath I’m actually tired of sitting in the car half of the day and cleaning up the stalls and Pollock’s injury. I get in the covers and put on my earphones, but then I realize that my iPod is out of battery. I just sigh and look for my study list, maybe I can cover something before I get too tired.

I wake up like at 9 a.m. I don’t even remember at what time I fell asleep. I can hear noises coming from down stairs and the smell of bacon and eggs is overwhelming. I just tie up my hair and put on some jeans and head down stairs. When I enter the kitchen I can see there is someone else sitting at the table his back is all I see, “Good morning” I say. He turns around “what are you doing here?” he tells me.

“You tell me, this is my house” I tell him with an amused smile.  I can see my family looking at us as if we have grown 2 heads. So I decide to introduce him.

“This is Serch he studies with me” I tell them

“Well he is my brother” Pam tells me.

“I couldn’t let this young man starve while he waited for Pam so I invited him for breakfast” finally my mom says and with the doubts cleared we sat down to have breakfast.

“hey Serch can we stay a little longer Steph promised we would go horseback riding, and since you know Gian you can hang out with her” Pam practically yelled from the porch and she didn’t really gave him time to answer she ran off with my sister.

“Well what do you want to do?” I look at him I actually feel sorry for him.

“How about you help me out with History, I’m having lots of problems with Rome”

Yeah sure lets go inside I’ll go get my notes.

We are so focused on studying that when we notice it’s already dinner time. But this time Serch insists that they have to go before his mom goes wild. Turns out their parents are divorced and Pam lives with their mom while Serch lives with his dad but on weekends he comes down to spend time with them.  After I finish my duties with Pollock I go to have a good night’s rest we didn’t just studied History we actually had time to review all the subjects and I feel confident for Monday.  Sunday it’s like any other Sunday, we help dad with the stables, we work out the horses and then I get ready to head to the city before dinner.

On Monday morning I’m ready for what might come, as I park my car I see my friends already waiting on the front of the school… 

“The exams were easy peasy!” I tell them on Friday afternoon just before we each part ways

“Well with all the studying we did on the weekend they should have been, at least you helped me out with lots of stuff” Serch tells me

“What studying?” Antony asked a bit annoyed

“Oh! Turns out that Serch’s sister is my sisters friend so when he came to pick her up we ended up studying together for quite some time, I thought I told you” I tell Antony

“No you didn’t” he answers kind of mad

“Well I guess I’ll be seen you a lot this Christmas break I’m going over to my mom’s” Serch tells me, as I’m about to answer something Antony turns around without saying a word and stomps away.

“What’s wrong with him?” I ask Serch

“I don’t know let me talk to him, see you later” he tells me and runs after him.

I say my goodbyes to Clark and Moore and wish them Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, they are both going on long vacations with their families. I head home to the apartment I really don’t feel like going out to the ranch today and it looks like it’s going to rain a lot in the evening I don’t wanna risk it on the road, so I call dad and let him know I will be arriving until tomorrow.

I am seating down on the couch drinking coffee and reading this romance novel but I just can’t focus on it when the doorbell rings. I go and look who might it be, and I open the door.

“What are you doing here?” I ask to the owner of these blue eyes

“I just came to say goodbye” Antony tells me but he seems off, something is not right, he smiles but his smile doesn’t reach his eyes.

“Well you stormed off this afternoon so I guessed my best friend didn’t care much” I tell him raising one eyebrow.

“Sorry about that, I just got worried you’re coming out of a hard breakup don’t want you to get hurt again, I know Serch and he is not the type of guy into relationships” he tells me

“Oh! So you think I’m now in to Serch? He is cute I’ll admit it, but I don’t think I should be getting there and either way that’s my decision to make, thanks for worrying but you don’t need to” I tell him and move away from the door to let him in. he just smiles and comes in but again I feel like he is not saying something.

We chat until it gets dark, he is going to Canada with his family they love skating and snowboarding and all of those things, his flight leaves tomorrow and he arrives just one day before school starts so we won’t be seeing each other in a while, it makes me sad that we might not be able to talk much either because of time frames, 4 hrs. is not much but when I’m free he might be busy and when he is free I might be asleep so we agreed to write and we would text back when we got chance.

“So see you later alligator” he tells me, but he keeps on looking at his shoes

“See you later, I promise I won’t get into trouble while you are not here to protect me” I mock him. He looks into my eyes and I can’t stop the shiver that runs down my back in a good way, there is something there but I can’t point it out.

“Promise you’ll behave and wait for me” he tells me and his eyes drift for a second to my lips, I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t been trying to decipher him.I feel this need to be near him but I use my better judgment and fight against this that I’m feeling, I can feel my eyes trying to look at those lips and force them to stay focused on those blue eyes. He into someone else he is just my friend “Promise”, I tell him and give him a peck on the cheeks “have a nice trip, be safe” I smile, he walks out the door with this uncomfortable silence like something is not being told. He stops at the door turns around and just says “take care” turns around and leaves me there on the door frame. I wait for him to disappear on the hallway and close the door. I lean against the door and just let myself slip to the floor, I stay there for several minutes trying to figure out my feelings, this can’t happen to me, not with him.

I head up to my room and put on some music, I decided to shuffle Antony’s list not knowing if it was a good idea to bring him up tonight. I know this song it’s the Rolling Stones “love is Strong”

I can’t listen to nothing right now I just turn everything off and head to the shower.
