FOREVER IS NOT A EVER AFTER

FRIENDS

I woke up with a start, I looked at the phone it was 5 am but somehow I thought I had slept over. I tried to go back to sleep, when I didn’t succeed at it in decided to get up and get ready for school. As last week I took my time in looking fine, did a light make up and blow dried, put on some tight clothes, but most of it consisted of dark colors. When I got to school Antony was nowhere and I went to meet with Clark. 

“How was your weekend?” She asked with a mischievous grin

“Long, tiring and upsetting”

“Oh, come on! I’m trying to live an exciting experience with a cowboy through you and you give me nothing!” She overacts and raises her hands in the air in a surrender gesture, and turns around and heads to class. I just giggle and walk behind her. 

The rest of the day is pretty boring just normal classes. I head back home, and decide to go get some groceries I’m running out of cereal and eggs, and boxed meals. That’s basically my diet, and every now and then food that my mom sends on Sundays when I come back. 

I go out and head out to the convenience store. 

As I’m getting back I get a phone call from Clark. 

“Hey where are you?”

“I went to the store I’m just coming up to the apartment, why?”

“Good, we’re up here and starting to get bored, we got sushi’s and movies”

“Ok” and I hung up

As I finish climbing the stairs I can make out 4 silhouettes outside of my door, who could be with Clark?

“Hey!! What’s up?” I tell them while I open the door and Antony helps me out with the groceries, and Serch stretches his hand to take one of the bags from Antony. I had never really paid attention to him he was always quiet and respectful. I never told them what really happened that night here with Alejandro I just cutted out some parts.  We all pile up on my living room while we talk and eat, we actually had a good time and Serch is actually funny. He likes to tease a lot and make sarcastic comments but he’s intentions are always good he never does it in a bad way. 

“We decided to make a little hang out before Christmas break we know you’ll be gone in about 1 week and then its exams week and we never get a chance to see you once you are gone.” She tells me before turning to Antony 

“And you, well it seems that you also leave for your snow, and do the same as Gian never answer or call back so this is how we’re going to do it.” He is very serious about it

“Yeah, next week we will meet up twice before Gian leaves and then we will meet on the last day of exams” Clark said with a smile

I knew better than to contradict those two so I just agreed to it. 

“And you?” I turn to Serch

“Well turns out I’m Antony’s best friend and he didn’t wanted an all-girls reunion so, I’m here” and he starts laughing when he looks at Antony who is giving him a murderous glare. 

“Ok, which movie?”  I try to change the subject we end up picking “Blood Diamond”. 

When it is done they all help pick up and get on their way, “next is on my home “Clark calls as they are walking down the stairs. I just smile and close the door behind me.

Next few days are just normal nothing’s going on, it’s already Friday and time to head back to the ranch, even though we weren’t competing in Vegas I had to keep on working Pollock out he could lose stamina and that was bad for him. I get there and dad is bringing in some of the mares and colts from the pastures, the vet was coming over to check on them and give some of them treatment. So I head inside and straight to the kitchen I’m starving!! Moms cooking lasagna and it smells delicious. I go and try to take a piece but she scolds me and sends me up to clean up before dinner. Reluctantly I go upstairs and take a quick shower, change into some loose pants and baggy shirt and head back down, everybody is here already. 

“Your cousin is coming back on the summer and he is staying for at least a year with us” my mom tells us “your uncle just called a few hours ago”

“Awesome, we can do a lot of things and catch up” I’m so excited! My cousin was in a roping team and currently he is studying in New York, enterprise management. We used to spend all the time together, he is turning 23 in a few months, and he was more like a brother to me, he’s been gone for 4 years now only coming over on vacation, his parents live down town but he stayed with us a lot helping out on the ranch and practicing with dad. He couldn’t come this winter ´cuz he wanted to finish his carrier and come home early, apparently he wants to have one more year of roping before going in full on his career. 

The weekend goes on as usual cleaning stalls, grooming horses and cleaning up the house. I get ready on Sunday to head to school and say my goodbyes.

On Monday morning I don’t want to leave my bed it’s like I’m stuck to the covers but I force myself up, this is the last week before the trip and I can’t be missing classes if I want to make good grades on the exams. So as now my usual Routine I get up and put on some tight jeans and shirt and a jacket and head on to school. No one notices me now it’s like its normal for me to look like this now. But I feel confident and I think I look cute. The day goes on too fast for my liking, I get to art class and go to my place, this time we were going to be working with pastel crayons on a black board. 

“Hey!” Antony calls as he gets next to me “do you know what you are drawing”

“Well I guess I’ll work with something easy like a cartoon bunny or something like that, how about you?” I look at him

“Oh! So a cartoon bunny is easy? I guess I’ll draw a line or a triangle to make it a bit more complex” I burst out laughing 

“Why don’t you try with a snowed scenery?” 

“Hmmm, you are making fun of me right”

“No I’m serious it’s mostly white and if it’s night you already have the black sky”

“Ok great idea I’ll work on that”

We get to work but by the time the class is almost over I look over to his work and oh my... it’s a mess!! I forgot to tell him he couldn’t erase it or it will look smudged all over, oh well we’ll have to make something up. He is very concentrated and I don’t want to disturb

“You can laugh now!” He turns to look at me

“Why?” I ask in an innocent way

“It’s a mess it doesn’t even look like snow” 

“You can always say its abstract art and the teacher will love it” I say while a big smile spreads on my face. 

He sticks his tong out in a childish way and turns to his masterpiece. 

On Thursday we meet up at Clark’s house it was fried chicken this time! I love it. The five of us talked and joked about anything and we had a really good time. Then we turned the DVD on and watched “A walk to

Remember” I’m not a big fan of this movies, but it was Moore’s choice and she won the odd one out. 

On Wednesday I studied a lot and tried finishing some books that would be on the literature test but I hadn’t had time to finish, I might have to search the dark internet for the summaries of each chapter that will be faster. 

On Thursday we meet again but this time my house, turns out that since Moore, Antony and Serch live with their parents they don’t want to be embarrassed by something they might say or do. We ask for pizza and spend a lot of time talking and having a good time. But instead of putting a movie we decided to turn on the music playing and talk. When we realized it was late, they all said their good byes and headed out. I came back to the kitchen and put away the left overs and threw the rest out. I turn off the lights and head to my room to turn off the iPod and head to bed...

She's got everything it takes” I get some of the lyrics of the song before I turn it off I think it’s Shania Twain... didn’t know Antony had this on the list, I should check all the list up. I head to my room and get a good night sleep.
