Chapter 10

Rome, Italy. Alliana's pov: I had just finished packing my bags and belongings with Souline, and we were about to leave Rome and return to Ontario. Had I known this trip was going to be a shitshow? probably. Would I go back in time and return? No way. "Are you ready?" I asked Souline. "Yup, are you?" Souline asked. "Yup, let's get out of here already," I said as I opened the door. Souline followed me down the elevator. "Are there any clients this week?" I asked. "Just that one client who called before Kai," Souline explained. "Let's hope the client is more professional and not narcissistic," I replied, to which Souline agreed. We left the hotel after descending the flight of stairs and ordering an Uber to the airport. My biggest concern was that the Uber took a while to arrive. When the Uber arrived, he put our bags in the back, and Souline and I got in. We arrived at the airport minutes later, grabbed our bags, and thanked the Uber driver. We entered the airport and boarded our flights. We took off after boarding our plane and flew over Rome. I'm relieved I won't be returning. So long, Rome! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rome, Italy. Kai's pov: I entered the conference room and sat on the chair's edge. I asked AJ and Denzel to assist me with the blueprints I created for the plan. I had the blueprints ready in case I didn't find any dirt on Alliana, which I doubt I would because she's very professional and doesn't appear to be the type to do anything shady, unlike Carlos. AJ and Denzel entered the conference room and took seats across from me. "So, how can we help you?" AJ asked as he examined the blueprint. "Carlos said we needed to devise a plan to abduct Alliana so she could get him out of jail," I explained. "Why not look for a new lawyer instead of trying to kidnap this girl?" stated Denzel. "I'm not sure," I said, rubbing my temples. "So, how are we going to do this?" AJ asked. "I'll research Alliana to see if I can find anything suspicious about her, and if I can't, I guess we'll have to plan an abduction," I said. "What about the girl she was with?" Denzel asked. "Souline? Carlos said we didn't need her. But I'd like to pay her a visit "I elaborated. "Why? Do you have feelings for her?" AJ laughed, which made Denzel laugh as well. "Shut the f**k up, I like messing with her, but that doesn't mean I like her," I grumbled. "All right, what do you want us to do while you're researching?" AJ asked. "Make a blueprint," I recommended. "We don't know where she lives; how do you want us to make one?" Denzel asked. "When Souline and I called again, I installed a tracker on her phone, which allowed me to see her location," I explained. "But you have Souline's address, not Alliana's," Denzel pointed out. "Souline is always with Alliana, so she'll probably be with Alliana the day we go," I shrugged. "All right," AJ said. "I'll start researching; you two start brainstorming," I said as I grabbed my laptop and walked over to the other desk. I entered Alliana Mercedes into the computer. When I typed it in, several websites appeared. "Damn, it'll take a while," I said as I clicked on the first link. The first link I clicked took me to a page of all-star lawyers. I scrolled down and found the best ten. As previously stated, Alliana Mercedes was the first. The second was our old lawyer, Vincente Morretti, who finished as the best of the two. He should be demoted to the worst lawyer because he couldn't even finish our case. The third one has surpassed Souline Marie, which is strange given that she is Alliana's assistant. I decided to close that tab and visit other websites, only to find more of the same nonsense. I leaned back and rubbed my temples, already stressed because there was nothing else to do. I stood up and returned to the table where AJ and Denzel were sitting. "Have you found anything yet?" AJ asked. "No, everything about her is positive," I replied. "Should we start with the blueprints?" Denzel asked. "Might as well," I reasoned as I rolled up my sleeves, knowing this would be a lengthy process.
