My wolf jumps off of him. I change back.
“Cory?” I say.
“Oh thank the Goddess, alpha. I thought I was dead for sure,” he says getting to his feet. He’s naked. He clearly turned into his wolf as I did. He’s also sweaty – sweat trickles down his body as if he’s been close to a burning fire. I look up at his eyes, they have a tinge of red, that I haven’t notice before. But he blinks and its gone.
I stare at him wondering if I imagined it. Maybe I have.
“Are you alright?” I ask, not sure what to make of him.
“Yes, I feel warn out, like I’ve been walking for hours. I only came here to check out that cave,” he says pointing behind me.
