Chapter 3: I Met With The Devil

1561 Words
Arianna's POV “He wants you to be his girlfriend.” Alpha Adams resounded in my ears. I thought my throat was dry before, but now, I can't breathe. “His what?” I asked, unable to hide how shocked I was. Fear and anger prevailed over me and in that instance, I didn't know what to do. My mind suggested I run away, but I knew that wasn't an option to consider. “Arianna, it's just for two months.” Alpha Adams added, when he noticed how much that information disturbed my mind. I cast a glance at the pompous Lycan Prince, and surprisingly, he remained so undisturbed as if this was normal. If I wasn't in a quandary about how to remain as hidden as possible and still be a girlfriend to the popular Lycan Prince, I would have taken that moment to admire his sexy body. I shook the thought off my mind. “You can have any girl you want, so why me?” I asked him, the anger in me giving me some courage to face him. He only smiled a devilish smile in response, pissing me off the most. If I wanted to be with a man, it was Alpha Adams. The first man to make me feel like I'm worth anything, and he didn't hesitate to show it. He was my fantasy and I longed for the day I would have him to myself, just that I didn't know how to express my feelings for him, or I was probably too proud to do it. The Lycan Prince rose to his feet and arranged his expensive suit. “I'll have my lawyer send you the documents. Make sure to sign them.” Tyler was a devil, a devil that doesn't consider how you feel. If Alpha Adams could save me from this one, I'd mindlessly throw myself at him without a second thought. “If you want me to be your girlfriend, then bring those documents yourself.” He was about to walk out of the door when those words escaped my lips and I regretted it immediately. He turned to look at me, and I looked down timidly, as if my new-found courage had just disappeared. I could feel his wolf growl and his onyx eyes on my forehead, but I didn't dare to look up. Alpha Adams was equally shocked at my impetus. Without saying another word, he walked out of the door. ***** You have made the worst mistake ever! My mind didn't stop the warnings. If there was a time I was really confused about a decision I made, it was now. As the confusion lingered on in my head, I picked up the phone to dial Lucy's number. The device started to ring, and I waited anxiously at this end, for Lucy to pick up. It rang for some seconds and the call was terminated. That really increased my anxiety. Lucy always picked my calls. Since the time we met, she has always got my back, so it was strange for her not to pick up my call. I picked up the cell phone and dialed her number again, but this time, she picked it up after a few seconds. “Hello Sweetest! What's up with you?” Her voice came out sweet and calm. “Hey babe, the worst has happened.” “What happened? Are you alright?” It seemed I made her agitated. “How could it be alright, when I met with the devil?” “So tell me, what does he look like?” Her scandalous voice almost forced laughter out of my throat. “I'm serious, Lucy.” “Is it that bad? She asked, a little seriously this time. "It's worse than that.” “So, what's the worst part?” She became a bit inquisitive. “I didn't just meet the devil, I also took a sip from his cup.” My voice became thinner, as my mind drifted from the call to what would possibly happen, if my cover was blown out. Lucy's voice brought me back to the present. “Are you listening at all, Arianna?” “I'm sorry! What did you say?” “Why don't you come over to my apartment? We should do some talking.” That was the best idea! I got up to get dressed. Getting away would be a good start. Since the night that I met Prince Tyler at the club, his images have filled my thoughts. It was as if his face was on every single thing in this house, everything that I dared to look at. His scent had mysteriously filled my nostrils, and I could feel his onyx eyes staring down at me, exactly the way he looked at me when he saw me on stage that night. I don't know what's happening to me, but the way I could feel him around me, it seemed there's a connection between us. “One thing I was sure of, it wasn't a mate bond.” I walked out of my apartment, locking the door behind me to go and see Lucy. ******* I received a call from Alpha Adams asking me to come to his office. When I walked in, he sat across the desk in Alpha Adams office, having a nonchalant look on his face. I didn't know how to feel or react to this proposal, but the money is just so irresistible. I had always known that the Dimitris had so much money, but I never knew they were so bloody rich that he would want to give out one million dollars to a girl just to make her his girlfriend. What else would he want from me if he didn't want s*x? I wondered. As we waited for the paperwork to be completed, I summoned up courage and tried having a conversation. “I guess we should get to know each other a little since we're going to be boyfriend and girlfriend.” I began, not sure what his response would be. “It's just on paper, Arianna. Don't think much about it.” Not ready to give him the satisfaction he expected, I continued. “I'm not thinking much about it, but you'll agree with me, that one needs to know a bit about who their boyfriend/girlfriend is.” I waited, this time, ready for what bullets he'd shoot. A wicked smirk curled up on his lips as he responded, “Maybe for you, but I already know what I need to know about you.” I looked at him in confusion. What did he know? I smiled pretentiously, trying to hide the confusion in my mind. “Well, I expected that. But I'd like to ask some questions, if you don't mind.” He just shrugged, as if it was too expensive to use his voice. “If you don't want s*x, then what do you want?” He smirked again, but this time wickedly. “I don't want s*x because you can't satisfy me in bed.” My fist curled up in anger. Who does he think he is? I know that I don't have much experience in bed apart from what I read in +18 novels, but he didn't have to sound that harsh. This guy is just an asshole and….. “But I guess you may be of some other use, maybe.” He added, interrupting my thoughts. “Maybe? If you're not convinced, why do you want to risk so much money?” “That may be a huge sum of money for you,” He arranged the collar of his expensive tuxedo pompously, and added, “but not for me.” “One more thing.” He only urged me with the nod of his head to continue. “I also have my own conditions.” “What f*****g conditions?” He quizzed amusingly, probably finding it amusing that a girl of my status would have conditions. “I want to continue dancing.” I looked away from his face and continued. “I mean, it's not permanent, so I don't want to lose my place here, since I'll have to come back to this.” “You can't do that,” he growled angrily. “How could you even…?” “That's exactly what I'll do.” I shouted those words before I knew it. He looked at me with shock. I added calmly, before he could speak. “Dancing pays my bills. So I'll always be a stripper.” “I am paying your bill now…” “Then we have no deal,” I interrupted again. I wish this courage was constantly a part of me. “Two nights per week only.” He growled dangerously, trying hard to hide the defeat in his voice. He pulled a pen from his jacket and threw it at me to sign the documents brought by his Beta. “Now can you sign the f*****g documents, so I can get the hell out of here?” I should have been happy, but I was rather worried! First, he agreed to bring the documents himself, and now accepted that I continue dancing. Anything that made the Lycan Prince accept a compromise wasn't ordinary. “What could he be hiding?”
