Chapter 2

Pov Lara Cursing, I hit the alarm clock. This damn thing should finally be quiet! Calm down, the alarm clock didn't do anything to you. My inner wolf spoke up. And what did he do? He woke me up! It's a good thing he did it, otherwise you'd be late for school by now. Oh crap, school. I had completely forgotten. I quickly went to my closet and looked for suitable things. I reached in and took out light skinny jeans and a basic white t-shirt, and I also took my leather jacket off the hook. I ran to my bathroom and let my mind wander. For a good year I lived alone in this beautiful house. I used to live here with my parents, but they passed away. Shortly before my 16th birthday, it was awful and the day after it happened was definitely the worst. The principal had given me the rest of the week off and I stayed in bed the whole first day. On the one hand, because I wouldn't have been able to get up anyway, and on the other hand, because I felt so safe. I was really scared for the first few months that the killer would come back, but he hadn't turned up until today, which in any case made me happy in a certain way. On the 2nd day, the doorbell rang and I opened it. Of course, I looked through the window 8 times beforehand and when I was sure that it couldn't be a murderer, I opened it. My best friend Eliza stood there and hugged me. She had found out what had happened from the headmaster. I didn't think it was that good, but otherwise I would probably have eaten it all up. On the 3rd day, the other three also visited me. I was just so hurt and sad that at some point they couldn't take me anymore. Since then, Andrea and Liam have been with Aria and her clique. They bully me every day. The only one who still visited me from time to time was Matt. Until he finally confessed his love to me and I slapped him thanks to Sela. At first, he stood in front of me in shock and I apologized as often as I could, but he just turned around and left me alone. I couldn't have told him that I was a werewolf and that my inner wolf just wanted his soulmate. Then I tried to be mad at Sela, but somehow it didn't really work. She always made me feel bad about it. On my 16th birthday I started a Netflix day with Eliza in the afternoon. Unfortunately, she fell asleep around 11 p.m. I was really tired, but I just couldn't sleep. So I went into our garden and lay down on the cold grass. In sweatpants and tops?!! I actually thought that I would get sick then, but I didn't. At midnight I wanted to go back inside, but suddenly I had such a sharp pain in my legs and back that I lay down. My bones often cracked and I tightened. When everything suddenly stopped, I looked down at myself. I had white fur. I quickly ran to a nearby river and looked at my reflection. I had all white fur and shimmering eyes. For a normal wolf, I was really big. Definitely too small for a werewolf though. Suddenly, Sela pulled me out of my thoughts and yelled at me to finish because the bus was leaving in 10 minutes. And if I continued at this pace, the bus would leave me too. I rolled my eyes, annoyed and hurried. I undressed, took a shower and put on fresh clothes. After that, I quickly combed my honey blonde wavy hair which fell below my chest, brushed my teeth and finally went downstairs to the kitchen. I quickly put a bottle of water and an empty roll in my bag and ran as fast as I could to the bus. I barely caught it and sat down next to Eliza, who had reserved the seat especially for me. "Nice chain" she whispered to me. Somehow, saying that had become a little ritual of greeting and encouragement. "Lara, you won't believe it, but we're getting 5 new students in our year group. And that's in the middle of the school year! I hope there's finally someone there for me!" she joked and we started giggling. In my opinion, the bus ride passed much too quickly and we left our seats. We went our separate ways at school. I had chemistry and she had math. With a heavy heart, I said goodbye to her and headed towards the science wing. I don't want to go anymore. Could we please go away? I want to run! Complained Sela. She was right, the last time we were really outside was on Sunday and today was Thursday. No, we have to go to school first, but I promise you that I'll start running right after school today. Don't you forget! I won't. Good. After Bio, I had lessons with Eliza again. We met in front of the room and kept silent to ourselves. I didn't actually do anything during the lesson. I hate talking in front of other people. I could never find the words and then I started to get lost in my own words. "Ms. Jones, could you at least give me the answer?" my teacher asked me. I looked up perplexed and beads of sweat formed very slowly on my forehead. My breathing quickened and, luckily for me, the teacher cleared his throat again. "Mrs. Jones. I just want an answer to my question," he said, and gave me an encouraging smile. But I didn't feel like smiling at all. Aria and her gang sat in the back row watching me. No, I couldn't see her. But I especially liked her looks. I made myself as small as possible in my chair. "What's the matter with you? Nobody laughs at a wrong answer here," he said, and looked at me with an indefinable look. Oh yes, he didn't know Aria then. "A year ago they always showed up regularly. How did the sudden change of heart come about? I could wring his neck on the spot. My fear was gone and, thanks to Sela, I almost wanted to go with him. Oh yes, finally my taste. Please let me do this. Please let me be in control of Barked Sela. Forget it please no! OK. And she was calm. Tears slowly welled up in my eyes. Don't you cry here now. Lara leaves it. No The first tear was already falling. Then the second. And then I couldn't follow all the conversations around me. I just felt someone hug me and I pressed myself against that person. I wanted out of here. I couldn't really see the teacher anymore. I only heard the soft words from the person hugging me and the giggles of Aria and Andrea. Somehow I had gotten out of the room. As? No idea. Eliza probably saved me. At least I was now sitting on our bench and brooding to myself. Why couldn't I just wrap it up? You won't come back. "How about we going shopping this afternoon? Then you can think about other things and I can check out the new stuff at Only." Eliza asked, breaking the silence between us. "Okay." I agreed. And together we went to our last lesson for today. I hate you. How come? You promised me to run and now you're going shopping with Eliza! Sela exclaimed, offended. Oh crap Sela, I'm really sorry I'll make it up to you. Promised. Don't make promises you won't keep afterwards. I don't do it anymore. Promised. You're doing it again! sorry After school, Eliza and I made our way into town. There we walked first to Only and then to H&M. Eliza found 2 shorts and one pair of long pants. To match the trousers, she had 2 t-shirts and 2 sweaters in an oversized style. In contrast to Eliza, I found a tight long-sleeved shirt and a dark blue dress. Of course, shoes were also a must, and shortly afterwards I found silver shoes that matched my dress. Eliza bought boots that she probably already had in her range. We went to the nail salon and Eliza had gel nails made that she had been dreaming of for a long time. I just had mine trimmed a bit and then painted. Eliza's fingernails had a matte shade of red afterwards and mine had a slight silver shimmer. But Eliza couldn't help it, so we went to the hairdresser on the other side of the street. My tips had to suffer and Eliza's tips were cut off as well. Unfortunately, mine were really 5 cm shorter and hers only 1 or 2 cm. Eliza came to my place after our shopping trip and we watched Gossip Girl. She was really excited about this series, which is why I had to watch it. This is the 3rd time we've seen it and we're still upset that Blair cheated on Nate with Chuck. Sorry for the spoilers, but first of all, this is season 1 and I can assure you it's really worth watching. Okay now. When Eliza was gone she jumped on my bed completely exhausted. When I looked out the window, it was already dark and I could see the bright moon in the sky. Let's go outside and say Sela. I agreed with her. The moon had some magical attractions, I couldn't say no. Outside, I transformed and ran into the woods behind our house. Then on to a small lake. I stopped there. After a few minutes, I noticed more werewolves. I didn't have a pack and ran alone through the forest. A found food for those in whose territory I was. I walked quietly behind a large rock and listened. The werewolves ran ahead of me on the path. Until they stopped at the lake. I strained my ears to hear better what they were talking about. I just couldn't understand anything. Such crap. But there was nothing I could do about that, so I took a closer look at the werewolves. There were 2. One was slightly smaller and had hazel fur and bronze eyes. A handsome wolf, one must say. What am I thinking? I looked at the second, confused. This one was larger and had pitch-black fur. He also had beautiful silver gray eyes. Suddenly, I noticed a sweet smell. No, this could not be. Never. I don't want him! I do not need him! Mate! shouted Sela Forget it! I called back and crouched and quickly made my way home. That turned out to be harder than it was. Both wolves seemed to have tweeted to me. They ran towards the stone behind which I had been hiding until just now. I ran home as fast as I could and threw myself on my bed. Starting tomorrow I will go to another forest, that is for sure! Or at least in another area.
