Chapter 11: Collapse

950 Words
The moment Alex said “Make me”… Everything stopped pretending it was a school anymore. The air didn’t just tense. It fractured. A low, unstable hum filled the space between seconds—like reality itself was struggling to stay intact. Darius didn’t move. But his eyes changed. “…You’re pushing it,” he said quietly. Alex tilted his head. And the shadows around him rose higher. Not chaotic. Not wild. Intentional. “I’m done being pushed,” Alex replied. The First Strike – War Begins Kai moved first. “Everyone—ENGAGE!” The battlefield exploded instantly. Mira launched fire bursts toward Darius’s crew. Leo charged the armored fighter, shaking the ground with each step. Eron vanished into speed, colliding mid-air with the blade-user from Darius’s team. Nyx stood still for a second— Then stepped forward. Because in front of her— Darius was waiting. Nyx vs Darius – Old Bonds Break “…You came back,” Darius said. Nyx didn’t answer immediately. Her shadows slowly rose. “…You shouldn’t have come here,” she said. Darius’s expression stayed calm. “I had no choice.” Nyx’s eyes sharpened. “That’s what you always say.” A pause. Then— She attacked. Shadows split the ground between them. Darius didn’t dodge. He simply raised his hand— And redirected time flow around the strike. The attack passed through where he was, but he was already elsewhere. Behind her. “…You’ve improved,” he said. Nyx turned instantly. “I had time.” Darius’s eyes narrowed slightly. “…Not enough.” Kai vs the Assassin Kai slammed gravity downward. The assassin from Darius’s crew barely stood under the pressure. “Stay down,” Kai muttered. The assassin smiled. And disappeared. Kai blinked— “…What?” A blade pressed against his neck instantly. Too fast. Kai forced gravity outward— The assassin was thrown back. But landed perfectly. “…Annoying,” Kai muttered. Leo & Eron – Controlled Chaos Leo grabbed the armored opponent and slammed him into the ground repeatedly. “Stay. Down!” The ground cracked. Eron appeared above another opponent— Speed-blur impact— But got blocked mid-air. “Okay,” Eron said, flipping back. “Not normal humans. Got it.” Alex vs Darius – Round Two Begins The ground between Alex and Darius slowly darkened. Not from shadow. From pressure. From something deeper. Kai shouted from afar: “Alex—don’t go one-on-one with him!” But Alex didn’t hear him. He was already walking forward. Darius stepped forward too. “…This doesn’t have to escalate,” Darius said. Alex laughed once. “…You already escalated it.” Silence. Then— They moved. Brother-Level Combat Darius struck first. A clean, precise attack. Alex blocked with shadow constructs—barely. The impact shattered the ground beneath them. “You’re holding back,” Alex said. Darius didn’t respond. Second strike. Faster. Alex dodged—barely. Third. Fourth. Alex was pushed back step by step. “…You’re predictable,” Darius said. Alex gritted his teeth. “…No. You just know me too well.” The shadows surged— Forcing space between them. The Truth in Motion Darius paused. “…You’re stabilizing faster.” Alex didn’t answer. “You’re not just reacting anymore,” Darius continued. “You’re adapting.” Alex’s eyes narrowed. “…Is that supposed to be bad?” Darius stepped forward. “Yes.” A pause. “Because if you fully adapt…” His voice lowered. “…you stop being human.” That hit differently. Even in the chaos. Alex froze for half a second. Nyx’s Critical Moment Across the battlefield— Nyx was losing ground. Darius was stronger than before. Too precise. Too calm. “You’re hesitating,” Darius said. Nyx clenched her fists. “…I’m not.” But she was. Because every move felt like memory. Not combat. History. Darius stepped closer. “You still trust me.” Nyx’s expression tightened. “…I don’t.” But her shadows slowed. Just slightly. And Darius saw it. Kai Breaks the Balance Kai suddenly dropped gravity on the entire battlefield. “ENOUGH!” Everything slammed downward. Even allies struggled. “Focus on ONE target!” Kai shouted. “Darius is the core!” Mira responded instantly. “Finally something smart!” Flames surged toward Darius’s crew. The battlefield shifted into full-scale war. Alex’s Shift – The Fragment Reacts Inside Alex— Something changed. The voice returned. But not fully dark this time. Not fully ancient. “They are delaying you.” Alex clenched his fists. “…Who are you?” “Those who fear what you become.” The shadows rose again. But now— They felt structured. Controlled. Like they were listening. Alex looked up at Darius. “…You’re wrong.” Darius paused. Alex stepped forward. “I’m not becoming less human.” A pause. “I’m becoming something you can’t control.” Second Clash – No Holding Back Alex moved first this time. Faster. Cleaner. Shadows formed blades—not wild, but precise. Darius blocked— But for the first time— He was pushed back. “…So it’s started,” Darius muttered. Alex didn’t stop. Strike after strike. Reality cracked slightly with each impact. Nyx looked over. “…He’s syncing.” Kai shouted: “SYNCING WITH WHAT?!” No one answered. Because no one knew for sure anymore. Sudden Collapse Signal A loud alarm shattered the battlefield. Not Academy alarms. Something deeper. System-wide. Reality-level. ⚠️ TIMELINE INSTABILITY DETECTED The sky flickered. Like a glitch. Everyone froze for half a second. Even Darius. “…It’s starting,” he whispered. Alex looked up. “…What’s starting?” Darius stepped back slightly. “…Collapse.”
