Chapter 15: Lost

960 Words
There was no more “battlefield.” There was only broken existence. Fragments of buildings floated in mid-air. Pieces of time overlapped—past, present, and something unfinished. And at the center of it all— Alex stood. Half human. Half something beyond time. Facing the man who started it all. The Final Clash Begins Professor Virel stepped forward slowly. No fear. No hesitation. “…You’ve surpassed expectation,” he said. Alex didn’t respond. His voice, when it came, echoed with that layered presence: “…You destroyed everything for control.” Virel smiled faintly. “I improved everything for purpose.” Silence. Then— They moved. Power Beyond Reality Virel twisted time itself. Multiple versions of his attack appeared at once—past strikes, future strikes, all converging into one unavoidable hit. But Alex— Saw them all. Felt them. Understood them. He raised his hand. And erased the incorrect ones. Only one remained. He caught it. Stopped it. Shattered it. Virel’s eyes widened for the first time. “…So you see it now.” Alex stepped forward. “I see everything.” The Twin Battle Behind them— Darius and Nyx fought the twin. Perfect coordination. Portal and shadow. Speed and precision. “You trained her well,” Nyx said coldly. The twin replied: “She was never meant to surpass us.” Darius appeared behind him— Strike— Blocked. The twin adapted instantly. “You both rely too much on connection,” the twin said. Nyx’s voice dropped. “…And you rely on control.” Her shadows shifted— Different. Deeper. For the first time— Not hesitation. Not memory. Just intent. The Breaking Point Kai, Mira, Leo, and Eron were barely holding the collapsing space together. “WE CAN’T HOLD THIS MUCH LONGER!” Kai shouted. Reality flickered violently. Entire sections vanished and reappeared. Mira gritted her teeth. “Alex has to finish it—NOW!” Virel’s Final Move Virel stepped back slightly. “…Then let’s end this properly.” He raised both hands. And the sky collapsed inward. A singularity formed. Not a black hole— A timeline collapse core. “…If I can’t control it,” Virel said calmly, “I’ll force the reset myself.” The white-haired girl appeared instantly. “No—!” But she was too late. The reset sequence began. The Choice Is Forced Everything froze. Not time. Decision. The system voice echoed everywhere: FINAL DECISION REQUIRED RESET ALL TIMELINES or STABILIZE CURRENT TIMELINE Alex stood still. The world waited. Inside Alex – Final Conversation The fragment spoke one last time. “Choose.” Alex closed his eyes. “…If I reset… everyone dies.” “They are restored in a new sequence.” “…But not the same.” Silence. “…If I stabilize…” “You remain the risk.” Alex exhaled slowly. “…So either I lose them now…” A pause. “…or risk losing them later.” The fragment didn’t answer. Because there was no better option. The Memory That Decides Everything Suddenly— A memory hit him. His mother. Smiling. Simple. Warm. Not powerful. Not important to the world. But everything to him. “…She didn’t care about perfect timelines,” Alex whispered. “…She cared about moments.” A pause. “…real ones.” The Decision Alex opened his eyes. Clear. Focused. “…I choose—” The fragment waited. Everyone waited. STABILIZE The Final Sacrifice The moment he chose— The fragment reacted. Violently. “Then you must become the seal completely.” Alex froze slightly. “…What does that mean?” Silence. Then— “You do not return.” Nyx’s eyes widened. “…No.” Darius stepped forward. “…Alex—” Too late. The Ending of the Battle Alex stepped forward one last time. Toward Virel. “…You lose.” Virel laughed softly. “…You think you’ve won?” Alex raised his hand. “…No.” A pause. “I chose something you never understood.” Reality stabilized— Around Alex. Not the world. Him. He became the anchor. The center. The seal. The fragment locked. Forever. Virel tried to move— But time rejected him. His body fractured. Erased. The twin turned— Too late. Darius and Nyx finished him together. Silence Returns The collapse stopped. The sky repaired itself. The world stabilized. But— Alex was still there. Floating. Fading. The Goodbye Nyx ran forward. “…Alex!” He looked at her. Smiled slightly. “…Guess I figured it out.” Her voice shook. “Don’t do this.” “I already did.” Darius stepped closer. “…You idiot.” Alex laughed softly. “…Yeah.” A pause. “…Take care of them.” Kai shouted: “THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WAY!” Mira turned away, clenching her fists. Leo stayed silent. Eron looked down. “…I hate this ending.” Final Words Alex looked at all of them. “…You were worth it.” A pause. “…All of it.” Then— He looked at Darius. “…You didn’t fail me.” Darius said nothing. But his fists clenched. The End of Alex Light and shadow collapsed inward. Not violently. Peacefully. And Alex— Was gone. Epilogue – Year 2030 The city stood. Whole. Alive. Stable. Kai trained new students. Mira rebuilt parts of the Academy. Leo and Eron argued like always. Nyx stood on a rooftop. Looking at the sky. Darius beside her. “…He’s still there,” she said. Darius nodded slightly. “…Yeah.” A pause. “…Holding everything together.” Final Scene The sky shimmered for just a second. Barely noticeable. Like a heartbeat. And somewhere— Beyond time— A voice whispered: “…Still here.”
