Chapter 31
The unusual tone of the alarm clock jolted me awake. Pain shot through me with the movement. It took a few seconds for me to recognise where I was. For the memories to come flooding back. I felt like crying all over again.
I almost turned the alarm off. I didn’t want to face the day ahead, but I knew I had to.
As I lay there trying to will my body to get up, I saw a flash of light in the rough shape of a human in front of my vision and realised I’d been dreaming about it. It made me think of the rumours of the Ghosts that supposedly haunted the tunnels down on Kronos. Rogan told everyone he’d seen one the day he’d lost it down there. They say if you see a Ghost, you’ve been down there too long. Being underground can affect some people like that.
