Oh, hell no!
I waved my hand in front of the sensor again to close the door, but it was too late. He’d stepped forward so that the safety mechanism in the door wouldn’t allow it to close. It paused for an instant, then slid open again.
Fear coursed through my veins. No... This can’t be happening!
“Malvolio! You need to leave. Now!” I told him, as pain sliced through my side. “I’ve called the Enforcers.”
He grabbed me by the arm, pulling me toward the kitchen, and pain nearly forced me to my knees. “You called the Enforcers? f**k! Are you trying to ruin my life?”
“Of course I called them! You... kicked me!” I could hardly get the words out as his fingers dug into my flesh and the door closed behind us.
“You. Hit. Me!” he yelled. “No one hits me!”
