Chapter 7Devin couldn’t decide if he wanted to cower in his room and pretend everything was as usual, or if he wanted to be part of the meeting. Mars didn’t give him a choice, though. When Murrie headed for the door, Mars gestured for him to follow. He followed Murrie out of his room. When they reached the downstairs hallway, Devin held up his phone. “I’ll give them a call.” Murrie nodded and headed for the kitchen. Mars lingered, and Devin did his best to ignore him as he called the number Murrie had listed on his calendar. It was easy to fall into the role of Murrie’s personal assistant. He apologized profusely and said something had come up and could they take a rain check on the meeting. They agreed on a time the following day, and Devin moved the event on Murrie’s calendar.
