Chapter 15Devin put the phone on the kitchen island and stepped toward the hallway. “Did you order something, Kenia?”
She shook her head.
“Strange. They were here this morning.”
She came up behind him as he opened the door for the delivery man. Before he could utter a greeting, the man pushed forward, making Devin back into the hallway. He closed the door with one hand and grabbed Devin’s arm with the other. It all happened so fast, too fast for him to be human.
Devin yelped, then the world came to a stop. For a moment, everything was frozen, then Devin’s brain kicked in.
