Koh Tang Island—Now J ust before dusk, they sighted the island and steered to make a long sweep south, hoping to avoid anyone watching from the two beaches that flanked the jungle foliage covering most of the land mass. While Pete steered and the rest of the crew fiddled with fake fishing nets hung over the fantail, Shake studied the island intently through binoculars. What little he’d been able to learn about Koh Tang said the island was currently uninhabited and only visited irregularly by diving charters. He spotted two skiffs bearing outboard engines hauled up on the beach, but they looked just like what locals might use. There were Cambodian fishermen all over the offshore islands. No reason why some of them working this area wouldn’t stay overnight and park their boats on the beach
