" A good neighbor is a new lease of life to those who hate their own homes,"
After the incident Jake and Eliza went back to the living room, Jake was seated right across Eliza in an old but artistic chair made out of wood. Jake looked tiny sitting on that chair, it was so big that another person could fit right in with ease.
"Why did you move in here?” asked Jake curiously. "Do you own the Mansion?"
“Well, I love the silence in here, and this mansion was gifted to my father from Mr. Woods, my father worked here in this mansion,” replied Eliza with a smile.
"That's some gift for a worker?" smiled Jake, after an awkward pause, "that’s what I thought otherwise Who would want to move to this place, I'm sorry I did not mean to be offensive but...interrupted Eliza before Jake could complete.
“Don’t worry, which you said was right, but I like it in here," responded Eliza tried to be casual and not wanting to disclose the reason behind her moving into the Woods Mansion or about her father acquiring the Mansion.
"Ok" Jake understood Eliza did not want to dwell further.
“So how long will you be here Jake,?” asked Eliza pleasingly.
“I haven’t decided,” replied Jake concealed the fact that he was about to leave Angelstown a few moments back.
“I’m hungry Mamma,” came Tom running.
“oh, I’m sorry dear. I will make you something,” replied Eliza apologizing to Tom.
“I will take leave now. You must be busy,” said Jake.
“Motherly duties,” replied Eliza blushing. “See you around Jake; I need your help anyway to move things around if you do not mind?”
“No Problem,” answered Jake.
He went back to his house, kept his luggage, and chose not to leave the town for now.
His Grandfather used to say, “No house is soulful however big it is unless you have good neighbors.”
Jake was still puzzled about the dream he saw last night. Was his dream a message from God of what was to come?
But for the first time, Jake felt happy he came to Anglestown and was now looking forward to spending some time with the family in the Woods Mansion.
Jake felt rejuvenated, he spent the whole day trying to fix the window which was stuck and setting up a fireplace. By evening the lamps were in place at the Mansion. Jake had now decided to set up a small workshop in front of his house. He was familiar with making handicrafts and wanted to try some innovative things with crafts so that he could sell them in other towns.
He suddenly saw Eliza Who was walking around the curtain on the First floor. She circled weirdly in her nightdress with her hair spread all around. She did that for a couple of minutes as if she was hypnotized and suddenly she stopped and walked away normally. Jake could not understand what was happening.
As Jake went back, an unknown being was seen entering the house. It was getting dark, and Jake couldn’t see properly. Jake saw a human form, but instead of skin, it was covered with thick ash. Jake was shocked and couldn’t believe his eyes. He had to go inside. There was no movement inside the house, as he slowly took small strides towards the house he was shaking. Since he forgot to turn on the lamp when he went out for a walk, it was dark inside.
Jake was shivering. He slowly reached towards the front door, there was a crackling sound coming from the floor. He slowly turned on the lamp and couldn’t find anything inside the house. Suddenly a giant ash crowd flew from under the bed throwing Jake to fall down near the artifact bag. He immediately got up and ran outside but in vain there was nothing.
The old box kept in his house included some old artifacts and dolls of angels and demons, which was opened by an unknown entity. Jake did not notice it, but only his luggage which was untouched. Jake's mind was now jumbled between thoughts.
Who opened the box?
