chapter 10- The shift (part 1)

Ellas's pov

heading downstairs with Millie, Anna and Rosaliea, we are halfway down the stairs when I smell it again chocolate and mint, where is it coming from I wonder. reaching the bottom of the stairs Axel turns his head along with another guy who I do not recognise, Axel springs to his feet and runs to me engulfing me in a huge hug "hi big bro" "you are not meant to wake till the day before your 18th" "so I've been told, yet here I am" "how though did Rosaliea wake you up?" Rosaliea came and stood beside me "no Axel I did not wake her up" "then how is she awake? oh and Rosaliea you have not put that glamour spell on her eyes" "I did but it does not seem to be working on her for some reason" " wait you put another spell on me?" "Yes to hide your true eye colour but we have some lenses for now, quick come with me" "Why do I need them? I don't want to hide who I am" Rosaliea turns to look at Axel with pleading eyes "sis you need to wear them till you at least turn 18" "OK fine I'll do it just for you guys" they are going to be so mad when they find out I turn 18 tomorrow. following Rosaliea she leads me to Anna's room, she picks up a little box and inside are several little cases she pulls a pair out with what looks like bright Amber contact lenses, "Amber, like Axel's" Rosaliea just looks at me but does not say anything, I have a feeling they are all hiding something from me but I don't know what, after Rosaliea puts the lenses in, we head back through to the others. I wish I had never agreed to these as they are irritating me badly, everyone is gathered in the living room "so..erm hello everyone" everyone turns to look at me shock still evident on their face, Mr and Mrs hollow(aka Jerry and Catherine) look at me more confused than shocked, "OK so Aiden and Millie have both filled me in on what's happening since I woke up" "how are you awake Ella?" "hi Mr hallow, that will all be revealed tomorrow night" "Ella it's Jerry to you why do you always insist on still calling me that'' he says as he chuckles at me "I'm sorry Mr...(slight cough) Jerry, ok so tonight we need to be in the forest for Aiden's first shift" turning towards Aiden " did you manage to get in touch with your parents Aiden?" "I did and they will be here in the next hour or so" "OK so we have what 2 hours before the moon rises?" "we do but Ella?" "Yes Axel'' "tomorrow is not only a full moon but its also a blood moon" "I know Axel don't worry" "you need to tell us what is happening tomorrow because we are still protecting you from what is happening" "AXEL... First of all, I do not need protection" "Oh really well what happened to you at the school then?" "Well, when your been restrained and not able to move or fight back what do you expect me to do huh" "we still need to protect you" "I will be fine Axel, and please do not speak to me I'm angry at you right now for bringing up that mistake, how many other mistakes are you going to bring up I'm not weak far from it and you know that" "el'' putting my hand in the air to stop him, can't believe he brought that up I'm so angry right now. I get they all love me and want to protect me but I'm so fed up of being wrapped in cotton wool for years now they have all been like this and I'm fed up with it.

The moon has now risen and Aiden's parents are here Mr and Mrs woollen "hello Mr and Mrs woollen it's been a while how are you both?" "please Ella just call us, Sophie and Jack, you know we see you as a daughter," they both say as they both engulf me into a hug, shyly laughing I look towards everyone and realise I've not been introduced to this new guy who smells intoxicating, all I smell coming from him is chocolate and mint smells heavenly, looking towards him raising one eyebrow at him "and who may you be?" everyone stops whoever they are talking to and turns towards me "Ella he is just a friend" Axel blurts out "was I asking you, Axel?" "no" "OK I was asking him not you ok!" turning back towards him he steps forward "hello Ella nice to finally meet you, my name is Bolton...Bolton Millier'' gasping out loud, why on earth is my bullies brother in my home "And why are you in my home, if I'm not mistaken you are the brother of Jen" "you would be correct, I'm the one who helped you" "What is that suppose to mean?" "I threw her off of you" "and what you threw her off of me, then what brought me home? then think it's OK to stick around? how do I know you and your sister have not cooked up a plan together" "I doubt that I've disowned her" "and why would you disown your sister" "because of what she has done, and also made my dad believe her lies" "OK but you have not answered my one question, why are you here?" "to stop my dad from finding you and to try and keep up to date with what he is planning" "Right because you can't mindlink Millie and let her know right?" "Yes I could but I'd like to protect you myself" "Why? you don't even know me?" "because believe it or not my parents brought me and Jen up not to behave how my father is acting now" "OK..stay go whatever just don't get in my way please" I see a look in Bolton's eyes it's a look of hurt, something I never expected to see coming from an Alpha which had me more curious than ever. we all head into the woods for Aiden's first shift, I can see and feel his anxiety, everyone can see and feel his anxiety "hey Aiden, you will be fine don't worry we are all here for you" "I know thankyou Ella" Aiden's dad Jack makes his way over to us, he is not very tall for a werewolf for a male anyway he is about 5ft 8inch and pretty round built with scraggly blonde hair with a long messy beard and dark grey eyes I think he is one of the silverlakes pack hunters I'm not too sure. "Aiden son you have nothing to worry about we are all by your side for this ok" "I know dad thankyou" "I love you son" "I love you too dad" Aiden's mum Sophie appears at the side of Jack she is about the same in height as Jack she is 5ft 8inch with long black hair up to her waist she is of medium build with light brown eyes she is stunning, but I can not shift this feeling of her being up to something as I can see the guilt in her eyes, I've always been good at reading people's emotions. we reach the part of the woods we needed to be at and the moon was about at its peak, Aiden goes behind a tree and strips into his boxers, we stand waiting for feels like an eternity when we start hearing the breaking of bones, it only lasts a few minutes until we all see a beautiful dark grey wolf who fur glistens silver when the moon shines down on him his eyes are a bright amethyst they almost glow, Austin who is Aiden's wolf tilts his head towards the moon in the sky and lets out the most melodic wolf song to the moon. we are all in awe at this scene when we are all startled by lowly growls "Ella run" Anna says to me but I just shake my head "no, I will not run Anna" slowly 5 wolves surround us baring their teeth, looking at all the wolves I notice one of them is fighting with their human right, until a dark grey wolf and a black as night wolf jumps in front of me in a protective stance "step aside young Alpha" a red looking wolf says to the black as night wolf. wait! How can I hear them? I'm not a wolf yet! looking around confused "anna" I whisper as quietly as I could "what's up Ella" "can you hear what they are saying" "no Ella I can't,wish I could but we can only do that in wolf form" looking rather confused "erm Anna I...can...hear them" Anna looks at me shocked until we hear a roar "hand over the rouge girl now Bolton" "not going to happen gamma mark" "Well we will take her by force then" "try it and I will kill you" all the wolves look torn between what to do right now,so I slowly back away without anyone noticing I make my way round to the wolves "take me then,I take it your Alpha has ordered this?" all the wolves turn quickly not expecting me to be there "Yes he did" "OK well take me to him then" "he won't be seeing you until tomorrow night when it's a blood moon" "and why is that may I ask" "because you will killed and presented to the moon goddess to cleanse your soul ready for you reincarnation" "and what have a done may I ask" "you attacked an Alpha's daughter" "did I?" "yes" "and you have proof of this happening?" "We have Jen and 5 witnesses" "OK but do you have any video proof huh" "no we dont" "OK so you're going off other people's word of mouth, you do realise its a crime to not give a fair trial" Bolton suddenly speaks up, "my father said he was going to take it to the elders he promised" "Well young Alpha he had a change of heart" "What by Jen twisting more lies to him?" "and why would she lie" Bolton looks angry ready to kill, giving Bolton a soft look I step forward " and how did you know where we were" "Oh that easy, we need to thank the wolf who helped" all the wolves turned towards Sophie "thank you little sister" Sophie looks red in the face.Aiden looks heartbroken, he shifts back to human form and looks towards his mum "mum how could you" "I'm sorry Aiden but I had no choice" "really" "it was either you or her, you are my son" "that no excuse, even Austin was to rip your throat out right now" why would Austin want to rip his own mother's throat out I wonder. "OK well take me back then" "shift into your wolf we will run back" "very funny" "Why is it we know you have a wolf even Jen said that's how you attacked her" "I have no wolf because I'm not of age yet" "Oh..erm...are you sure?" gamma mark looked confused " I will still come with you, don't want you getting in trouble with your hard man Alpha do I" " are you sure, just the dungeons are cold and I don't think you would survive the night without having your wolf" "Don't worry about me I've survived much worse" "Ella please don't do this" "Anna it's the only way" leaving my words at that I walk up to this gamma mark and hop on his wolves back. I could not believe how soft his fur is, "g..g..gamma mark" "Yes?" "may I ask why does your wolf have amethyst eyes" "that is something my wolf will not tell me, but tell me young pup how is it you can hear me" "honestly I have no idea, I was speaking to Anna my sister when I asked her if she could hear you and she told me that you can't hear another wolf unless you are in wolf form" "that is correct" "I don't understand how I can hear you" " we will figure it out" "please don't tell the Alpha about any of this, all he needs to know is you found me and I came willingly" "of course young pup" within an hour we are walking up to the silverlake pack house,its huge and beautiful there is wild flowers of every colour in the front and house itself is made of white brick with huge bay windows,and a beautiful porch with double doors and a seating area upon it,the gamma stops dead in his tracks "I have her Alpha,where shall I put her" "in the dungeons as we discussed gamma mark" "but it will be to cold for a young pup like her" "stop been so soft mark her wolf will keep her warm" I feel the gamma's hesitation,putting my hand in between his shoulder blade,I lean forward towards the gamma's wolf ears "please don't tell him anything" at that his wolf nodded it's snout at me, "as you wish Alpha" "good,now when your finished dealing with that rouge tramp come to my office please" "Yes Alpha" we head to the back of the pack house where in the distance you can see an old brick building once inside you can smell mould,blood and damp,I could see my own breath it was that cold in here but that confused me as we was at the start of summer "gamma why is it so cold in here" "it always has been in here for along as I can remember,no one has any idea as to why its so cold" "Oh how strange" he walks further along till we come up to another set of doors where a guard is present "hello gamma mark" the guard bows to him,all gamma mark does is just nod his wolfs head,we walk further down some steps it was pitch black down here with no light source at all,Realising the breath I did not realise I was holding,gulping really hard the guard opens the cell door for me and I make my way in.they was no bed and no mattress only a cover on the floor,and a hole in the ground which I presume is for when you use the bathroom there was nothing to even wash your self in.great I'm going to smell divine tomorrow. turning back towards gamma mark who seems to be holding a sad look "I'm sorry young one but I need to lock the door" "it's fine, honestly you do your job OK" as he starts closing the door and locking it I shout out to him "thankyou gamma mark, I will never forget this" with that said he leaves and I'm all alone in my own thoughts wondering what tomorrow is going to bring, I remove the contact lenses so I can maybe try and get some kind of sleep, putting them on the floor near me, fluffing up this blanket best I can and lay my head down feels like hours till I fall lightly asleep.
