Chapter 18

Monday 29th of August, 2016 Toronto, Canada Noah Williams Marylou still hasn't talked to me in 2 days. She completely ignores me every time I say something to her. I just want to ask her what's wrong, but I can't get through to her and I really have to find a way to. I'm just about to ask help from my mom when someone knocks on the door. "Yes," I say. The door opens and Michael walks in. "Good boy," I say, "you learn fast!" Michael laughs sarcastically. "I'm here to help you," he says. I laugh slightly. "You helping me?" I say and point to myself. "Yes!" he says enthusiastic, "I still owe you." "Okay wait," I say, "with what are you going to help me?" "With the fact that Marylou ignores you," he says casually. I raise my eyebrows. "You think you can help?" I say. "Yes!" Michael says, "just give me some time and everything will be like old times." "Okay," I say, "go for it." "Nice," Michael says and leaves my room, letting the door open. "DOOR," I yell him behind, but I already hear him on the stairs. I sigh and walk to the door to close it, can't expect too much from him at once. I'm really curious to how he thinks he can help me, but if he thinks he can why stop him? That evening I'm sitting behind my desk video chatting with Max and Eldon. We're playing an online game against each other and it's just a lot better when we can yell at each other instead of typing it all in caps lock. We're coming close to an end and I'm on the wining hand when my door flies open and Marylou runs in. " Noah!" she squeals and jumps onto my lap. When she wraps her little arms around my neck I'm forced to forfeit the game. "I don't want you to go," she cries and I feel my shoulder getting wet. I put my headset off and rub over my little sisters back in attempt to calm her down. "I know," I say, "but I really want to go. I'm going to be back before you know it." "Why can't I just come with you?" she asks and rubs with her little hands in her eyes. I laugh slightly. "I don't think you want to," I say, "I'll be really busy, but I'll call you okay?" She nods. "Sorry for ignoring you Noah," she says and hugs me again. "I know LouLou," I say, "It's okay." "Marylou?" I hear my mother yell through the house all of the sudden. Marylou freezes and makes herself even smaller on my lap. "Don't say I'm here!" she whispers scared. "What have you done?" I ask her and only now when I look at her I see that she's wearing her pajamas. Wait a second. What time is it? I look on my phone and see that it's already 11 pm. "Shouldn't you be asleep?" I whisper back, but she doesn't react. She has her eyes closed and acts like she asleep. "You sneaky..." I say and laugh slightly. Just a few seconds later my mom walks into my room. "Have you see-" she starts but I cut her off by laying my finger on my lips and pointing at Marylou. "So there she is," my mother whispers, "I should've known." I smile slightly. "Do you mind bringing her to her bed?" she asks. "No of course not," I say and shake my head. "Thanks," she says and quietly closes my door again. Marylou instantly opens her eyes again. "Can I please stay here?" she asks and pouts. "No," I say and laugh, "tomorrow a new day." "Look who's back!" Eldon says when I put my headset back on after I brought Marylou away. "From who did she learn that?!" Max asks and I laugh. "Not from me!" I say, "my parents saw everything I did through when I was little." "Anyways," Eldon says, "you lost." "What?!" I say, "no I was winning." "Yea but then you left," Max says, "and I won." "That's not fair!" I say. "Yes it is!" Eldon says and he laughs. Normally I never win and this one time I was about to win. Ugh. "I'm gonna go," I say. "Aw are you going to your mommy to cry," Max mocks. "No," I say, "I'm going to sleep, I'm wise." "Whatever you want to believe," Eldon jokes. "Okay," I say, "bye." They say goodbye and I close my laptop. I change into my pajamas and brush my teeth. "Good night," I say when I meet my parents in the hall. "Good night," they say. When I lay in my bed I first check my social media and after liking some pictures on i********: I remember that I never reacted anymore to Richelle. The lost feeling is luckily gone. 'You were right, my little sister was just really upset,' I send her. A few minutes later I feel my eyes get heavier and heavier. I'm literally on the edge of falling asleep when I hear my phone buzz. 'Good, I knew it' I read and see that it's from Richelle. For some unknown reason I start to smile. 'You never told me why you felt lost,' she sends quick after her last text. 'I don't feel anymore, but my sister means a lot to me so it was kind of weird when she ignored me,' I send. 'Understandable,' she sends a few seconds later. 'What time is it there actually?' I ask. 'Around 5:30 pm,' she sends, 'you're 18 hours behind.' '18?! That's a lot!' I send. I knew New Zealand lived in the future, but I didn't think it was so many hours. 'How looks the future?' I ask. 'For me dark,' she sends, 'for you I think glorious.' 'Why that?' I send. To be honest I'm not just being nice, I really want to know. I want to make sure she's okay. 'My dad lost his job today :(,' she sends. 'I'm sorry,' I send, 'I'm sure everything will be alright though, doesn't your mother work?' 'My mother left us when I was born,' she says. 'Oh I'm really sorry,' I say. 'It's okay,' Richelle sends, 'you couldn't know, things are just complicated.' 'Okay next subject :p,' I send quick. I really don't want to have it upon my conscience that I made someone upset. 'When does your school year ends?' I ask. I have had so many questions the whole week since I learned where she lived. 'Begin December,' she sends, 'I can't wait until I'm graduated!' 'Cool, do you already know what you're going to do next?' I send. 'I want to go to university, but I've no idea if we can effort it,' she sends. 'I hope so for you,' I send. 'Yea I hope so too,' Richelle sends, 'do you know what you're going to do after the tour?' 'Not exactly,' I send, 'I really want to see the world and then maybe go to university next year.' 'Sounds good!' I get after a few seconds, 'you should come to New Zealand, it's beautiful here!' 'I'm coming with the tour,' I send, 'are you coming?' You can't even imagine how excited I am to go to Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand will just be a day or so, but still. After our Australia and New Zealand part of the tour we have a few days off which I of course am going to spend in Australia! It will be really cool. 'I'm trying too,' she sends after a while, 'but I live in Wellington, so I'll have to fly if I want to come.' 'The show is (in my opinion) totally worth it! We've some new cool dances,' I send. 'I'll see if I somehow be able to get enough money,' she sends after a few minutes. Too bad we're only going to Auckland in New Zealand, but maybe next year we'll go to more cities. 'Do you actually dance?' I ask after a while. 'I did,' Richelle says, 'but had to stop due money.' 'Stupid money,' I send. 'I still dance in my bedroom though :p' she sends. I laugh slightly. 'I'm sure you're better than you think,' I send. 'Can I ask you a question,' she asks. 'Of course,' I send. 'Why do you talk to me?' she sends. 'What do you mean?' I ask. Okay I know what she means, but to be honest I've no idea why I talk to her. It's just fun, she so different than all of my friends. 'You've everything and I've literally nothing,' she says. 'Honestly I like talking to you, you're different from all of my friends,' I type, but get kind of nervous about her reaction. 'Is that a good thing?' she asks. 'My friends know exactly what to say on any moment, aren't always honest but have the best answers. You on the other hand are honest, or that's at least what I think, you just say what you think and you don't seems to be afraid of just asking,' I send. 'And your girlfriend is fine with it?' she sends then, 'I don't want an angry girlfriend behind me if you understand.' I laugh. 'Haha,' I send, 'I don't have a girlfriend.' 'Oh really?' she sends, 'wouldn't think that of a guy like you.' Richelle is smarter than this, she has been following me on social media for a long time. Richelle don't act stupid,' I send. 'Thanks,' she sends. 'We both know that you knew that I don't have a girlfriend,' I send. It's cute though that she still asked. Wait what did I just think? 'So?' she sends, 'I'm still allowed to ask right?' 'Of course,' I send, 'you can ask me anytime anything you want to know.' 'Great, what's your pin code?' she asks. 'I didn't mean it like that,' I response. 'Haha I was joking,' she sends. 'But seriously, I can just throw everything you say on the internet and you're life changes forever, why are you so honest?' she asks after a while. 'Yea, but I know you won't do that,' I send. 'That's true,' she responses. 'And besides, who says that I'm not lying,' I send. 'But I trust you, so I hope you're not lying,' she sends. 'I'm not, don't worry,' I send. Honestly I'm never this honest with anyone. Especially not people I just met, but she's just so hones that I literally feel like I've to be honest too. This girl is changing me.
