Wellington, New Zealand
Richelle Smith
I wake up early the next morning. Didn't sleep very well last night. Yesterday was supposed to be the big day of my life, the day that I would met Noah, but I assume it isn't meant to be. I'm really glad I stayed in Wellington though, luckily everything went well with my aunt and I had a great day with Katie. At least I have that friendship back.
I start up my laptop. So stupid you can go to i********: on your laptop, but not chat with anyone. If that would be possible I would still be able to text with Noah, but I'm not so lucky. Noah hasn't post something, so I decide to search the #tnswildrythm. I just want to know how the show went.
I scroll through the #tnswildrhythm tag and keep seeing the same video. I don't know exactly who's standing on stage, so I watch it. I smile when I realize that it is Noah, but due the amount of whispering people I can hardly hear what he's saying.
After watching multiple videos multiple times I kind of heard what he said. Not That I can believe it, but that's beside the point. I'm still shaking and I've literally tears in my eyes. I just can't believe what happened. "I'm looking for Richelle’s neighbor," I hear him say when I listen it again.
It seems like every time I listen to it, it becomes clearer what he says. My heart skips a beat again when the video repeats.
I freeze and watch the video another time and after that I watch it another 10 times.
Then it hits me. I really need a phone.
Now.
I don't care that it's Saturday morning and that I have to work in an hour. I throw a sweater over my pajama and put some shoes on. It's spring but pretty hot for the time of the year.
As quick as I can I run to Katie and knock impatient on the door after I pressed on the doorbell. "What are you doing here so early?!" Lizzy asks when she opens the door. "Sorry I really need to see Katie," I say stepping into the house. "Okay but she's probably asleep," Lizzy says, "and everyone else is too." "I'll be quiet," I say already walking towards the stairs.
In Katie's room I carefully wake her up. "Katie," I say and shake her softly, "Katie I need your phone."
She wakes up and looks confused at me. "What are you doing here?!" she asks. "I need your phone," I say, "now." "Not before I know why you need it," she says. "I need to text Noah," I say and almost freak out. " Richelle relax and sit down," Katie says, "why do you need to text him."
"He's looking for me," I say and sit down on her bed. Katie laughs a bit but stops when she sees I'm being serious.
"Everything alright with you?" she asks, her eyes widen, "what did you dream about." "Listen," I say hopeless grabbing her hands, "I wasn't dreaming, you have to believe me."
"Why would he all of the sudden be looking for you?" Katie asks confused. "I don't know," I say, "please I can prove it."
Katie grabs her phone and gives it to me. "Prove it," she says. I go to her i********: and go to the tag #tnswildrhythm. Quickly searching for the video where you can hear it the best.
"Look," I say and let her see and her the video. "What?" Katie says even more confused, "the neighbor of Richelle." "Yes!" I say, "my neighbor gave him a letter from me!" "this still means nothing, I'm sure you're not the only Richelle," Katie says stubborn.
"Please believe me," I beg her. "How would he even know who you are?" Katie asks, her confusion turned into disbelieve again. "Wait," I say, "let me log in into my account." Katie hesitates, but lets me in the end.
With shaking hands I log into my account and go to the private chat with Noah, only to find out it's empty. "What?!" I say confused and freak out.
"It's gone!" I say and start to cry, "it's all gone."
Katie rubs over my back to calm me down, but it makes me even cry harder. "I'm going to prove it," I say, "I'm not a lunatic."
With tears in my eyes and shaking hands I grab Katie's phone. 'Hi, I'm using a friend's phone to send this. I assume you got my letter, hope the show went well,' I send. I can't stop crying and I'm pretty sure Katie thinks that I'm getting crazy " Richelle he's not going to react," she says carefully. "Yes he is!" I say, "just wait and see!"
I impatient tap with my feet on the ground waiting for a response, but Noah doesn't react. No wonder, why would he be awake at this time of the day, but I still wish he was. After a while I realize that I've to work this morning and I look at the time, crap I've to go. "I've to go now," I say quickly , "but I promise you it wasn't a dream." Katie nods, but the look on her face says more I'm sorry for you then I believe you. "Please just wait," I say, "don't log out for at least today, he never takes long to react."
I want to walk away, but Katie pulls me into a hug. "You'll get over him," she says softly and rubs my back, "I know how badly you want him to know you." Katie not believing me makes me cry again, but I don't blame her. I wouldn't believe myself either if I was in her position.
"I'm not crazy," I huff, "don't act like I am." "Sorry," Katie says pulling away, "see you Later." "See you at my house when he reacts," I say and walk out of her room. I run downstairs, excuse myself to Katie's parents for making so much noise and run back home as quickly as possible.
Thanks to my stamina.
