Noah Williams
Mom and dad are driving me to the airport. It's still early, the sun hasn'tcome up yet. Beside me sits Marylou, her arms wrapped tight around my arm. Sheactually hasn't left my side since she grabbed it yesterday morning. YesterdayI packed my bags and in the evening we watched a movie with the family.
It's was a nice movie, but my mom and Marylou fell asleep hallway throughthe movie and Michael was just on his phone. My dad got a call, something fromwork he had to take it, and since my mom wasn't awake, she couldn't yell at himfor walking away. So actually only Matthew and I watched the movie. It wasstill fun though.
Lou was very upset when she woke up this morning and realized that she fellasleep. And that's where she decided to not let go of my arm until she has to.
'Good morning,' I suddenly get a text from Richelle. 'Hii,' I send back. The one good thing about the time difference, she's still awake right now.
Ready for tour?

You can sleep in the airplane
True, but can we stay a little longer atthe last subject
Yes sir
We both know that you want to meet me toobadly
I think you're afraid that I'm indeed not going to come
Bullshit
I'm sure you've had many sleepless nights
You too
Yea, but that was because I was studying
Touché
What else did you expect :p
I laugh at my phone. No matter what time of the day, Richelle always knowswhat to say.
"Who's that?" Marylou asks suddenly. "Oh nothing," Ibrush off. "It didn't look like nothing," she says. "Marylouit's nothing interesting," I say. "Mom why's Noah smiling like anidiot at his phone?" Marylou asks my mom then. I'm pretty sure I was justlaughing at my phone. Like a normal human being, right? I'm not an i***t!
"You'll understand when you're older," my mom says grinning and Iroll my eyes. "So everything turned out well?" my mom asks looking atme via the car mirror. "Yes," I say looking back down. "Andshe's already awake at this time?" my dad says, "she must likeyou."
First of all how does my dad know? And second, no she doesn't like me. Whywould she?
"No she doesn't like me," I say, "and no she eh she's stillawake." That doesn't exactly sound better than that she's already awake."At 5:30?" my dad asks surprised, his eyes fixed on the road."Well eh it isn't exactly 5:30 there," I stutter and look out of thewindow trying to hide that I'm getting a little nervous.
My mother turns around instantly in the passenger's seat. "Pleasedon't get yourself tangled in a long distance relationship," she says. Thelook on her face gives away that she's worried although I don't exactly knowwhy she's so worried.
"Mom she isn't my girlfriend!" I exclaim, "I don't even likeher like that, she's just a really great friend." "Your mom was mybest friend back in high school," my dad says casually and taps impatientwith his fingers on the steering wheel while he waits for the traffic lights toturn green. I sigh loudly and face palm my face. "You guys areannoying," I state.
Mom laughs slightly. "What time is it where she is?" she asks."I don't know," I say. Yes I do know, time minus 6 plus a day."11:30 or so," I say after a while. "11:30!" my dad says,"where in Europe does she live?"
"Does she live in France?!" my mom asks excited, "I'vealways wanted to visit France." "She speaks English right?" mydad asks. "Yea bu-," I start but my mom cuts me of. "England isan hour behind most of Europe right? You sure it's 11:30 where she lives."
"GUYS," I say loud, "11:30 PM, not AM."
"PM?" my dad says surprised, "but that would mean she liveson the other side of the world." "Exactly," I say a littleirritated and look at my phone. I see that I've some texts from Eldon askingwhere I am. 'Almost there,' I send him. We can't be there fast enough.
The rest of the drive they remain quiet and luckily we arrive at theairport soon. "Hey but that means she lives somewhere in Australiaright?" my mom asks then suddenly. "New Zealand," I correct her,"and she's just a good friend, like Giselle, Michelle and Riley are goodfriends of mine too."
"Sorry," she apologizes, "I just hoped tha-""You've said enough mom," I cut her off, "let's just go."
We get out of the car and my mom and dad help me with my baggage whileMarylou climbs onto my back.
I'm greeted by my cast mates when we walk into the airport. There are someparents, but not many. I'm the last one to arrive, so we head to security rightaway. Unfortunately that's where I have to say goodbye to my parents andMarylou. I said goodbye to Matthew and Michael last night, they were too lazyto come or to wake up early.
I give my mom and dad a hug. "Have fun," my dad says."Thanks," I say, "shouldn't be hard." "Call when youarrive," my mom says. She has tears in her eyes. Mothers... "Ofcourse," I say.
Then I give Marylou a tight hug. She burst into tears and wraps her armsand legs around me. "You're going to be fine," I say rubbing over herlittle back, "I'm back before you know it."
After a while I put her down. She instantly jumps into my mom's arms."See you in a month," I say and grab my baggage.
