I stared in the direction of the man"s voice, trying to make him out, but he still lurked in the shadows.
"Hello?" My voice cracked, reminding me how long it had been since I"d last spoken to someone who wasn"t myself or the fish swimming in the Nile.
"Don"t take another step." The man"s voice shook, almost as if he didn"t want to be threatening me.
