I resisted the urge to pace back and forth as I waited for Ma"at to come with information about what happened to Tutu. A large part of me wanted to ignore all the help she was offering me and go out on my own, but I knew that was foolhardy. I had no way of knowing where he was or what he"d gotten up to, and it was better to have all the information I needed before I charged off into the desert with no idea what I was doing. I didn"t have to go through any of this alone. It was still a weird thing to have to remind myself when it was so new. I"d never had this kind of support before, and I didn"t know how to respond to it. But I knew Ma"at was trustworthy. I didn"t need to know her well to be certain of that. Everyone who had ever met her was aware of how much she meant the words she said
