Several Months Later
I closed my eyes and let the sun soak into my skin, warming every part of me as I leaned back in my seat. The courtyard was perfectly placed to get the best of the afternoon sun and I planned to make the most of it.
"When do you have to go back?" Tutu asked.
I sighed. "Half an hour or so. Someone will come to get me."
"Wouldn"t it be better if you kept an eye on the time yourself?"
I shook my head. "Not when we"re waiting on Anubis. You know what he"s like. I"m surprised he"s turned up at all." The god of mummification was renowned for the reclusive life he"d been living for the past couple of centuries. I wasn"t sure why he avoided spending time around the rest of the gods, but I wasn"t one to judge.
