The next morning, Tommy Jackson and Orrin Rampersad jumped on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and hit the I-495 en route to Southampton, along the easternmost part of Long Island. They had arranged an interview with Geri Lindsay, the supermodel who had escaped the East Harlem brownstone less than two weeks ago and reported her a*******n to the NYPD. Since then she had undergone surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where surgeons attached a bionic limb sent to the USA from Berlin, Germany where the robotic leg was developed. The operation was considered a success, but the German engineers vowed to emulate the advances of the “Mad Doctors of Harlem” and upgrade Geri’s prototype in the near future.
