CHAPTER NINE
The next morning, the detectives took a drive out to the Jersey Shore to meet with Jerome Browne. Once again, they found themselves on the BQE, taking the I-278 to I-95 South to where the New Jersey Parkway met the Garden State Parkway. They hung a left on Highway 72, crossing Manahawkin Bay to Long Beach Boulevard, driving south to where the $15 million mansion sat on acreage overlooking Little Egg Harbor.
Once again, they were confronted by armed guards who were parked at strategic positions along the beachfront property, radioing each other as they confirmed the detectives’ identity and announced their arrival. They were escorted to the two-garage parking area and then to the second-floor balcony where Jerome Browne awaited. They had little time to admire the majestic arc
