CHAPTER 22 JENNA’S POV I never for once thought about seeing him again. Not today, not even in a million years. But I was wrong, he was here, standing right before my eyes. God! He looked different now, he didn’t have that stubby little goatee, but a full beard now. His eyes…..they were the same—warm, green and captivating. A very familiar gaze I never thought I’d see again. He had always been handsome, but now the years far spent could be told on his face. He looked more like a man now. Not the person who I’d walked out on without a word, goodbye, nor a reason for my disappearance. Instantly the guilt returned. The way he was staring at me now, was just as he did after I’d rejected him. The look of despair. For a moment I almost forgot how easy it was to breathe.
