CHAPTER 20 ISABELLE’S POV I stood by the corner of an old bookstore, while the hot summer Madrid sun sizzled dryly on my skin. Without hesitation, I quickly slid my sunglasses higher on the bridge of my nose and tugged my hat forward. Jenna had called earlier that morning if we could go on a shopping date which I reluctantly agreed to, so I picked a time. Not too early but late enough to buy me time to sneak out to another location. Letting Jenna find out I stay in the same hotel would be too much of a coincidence. Or worse, even start to raise suspicions. I hated waiting like this—every second standing out here made my skin crawl.
