CHAPTER 7
Hannah~
I don’t sleep.
I stay on the floor against the door until my legs go numb and the sounds on the other side finally stop. After that comes the quiet. The kind of quiet that feels worse than the noise because it leaves too much room for thinking.
I eventually crawl into the bed, pull the clean white sheets over my head, and stare at the dark until the sky outside the window starts turning gray.
My wolf Benny goes silent somewhere around three in the morning. That almost scares me more than the snarling.
When I hear the front door open and close softly just after six, I know Sienna is gone. Her perfume still hangs in the hallway though. Light, expensive, and completely wrong for this apartment.
I wait another twenty minutes before I risk getting up.
